25.01.2022 Hi out for dinner and thinking about what to create next. I got a laminate side table in a one piece curved form See lots of these made of glass. I decopauge the surface in a geometric paper and painted copious layers of subtle metallic paints Highlights in black and gold and I am chuffed at how great it looks. I called the pice Graffiti and am unsure whether to hold it back for next exhibition or place it at Lamont Street Markets. Some thinking to do. Cheers
24.01.2022 Hello nearly time to go home to Paradise. Went to Raffen and Kelaher Auctions yesterday and picked up a couple of new projects. A industrial metal bin on legs a terracotta pot and I think I will decoupage both. The bin would be great as a storage container for a work room or family room, for magazines or books so I look for appropriate themed paper and the pot I will do a second "Can you find... perhaps butterflies hidden in floral motifs. I also was successful in picking up a beautiful mannequin which will be handy for construction of wearable art outfits for EFTAG.

21.01.2022 Finally got going with the warped theme no ideas then they come flooding in. I have been very busy travelling art galleries snow Melbourne then Sydney and now home. Time to get moving with EFTAG exhibition pieces. I am very happy with their development. I am playing with new industrial waste extruded plastics,a challenge but it is slowly coming together. I last spoke with a wonderful person about recycling tortoise shell into jewelry and she was so enthusiastic about my sketches and plans. Sadly she lost her fight for life Last Monday so I am even more determined to make the pieces she was keen on. Another piece of my heart has broken away and is with Debbie and our shared memories.

17.01.2022 Hello I am still in Sydney and have been working on my WOW dress.I am pleased at how the fine merino wool fabric is sewing .I anticipated that it would slip more but the fine ballpoint needle and the cotton suggested by Heather at Country Crafts has been a blessing. I am off to NSW AG Sunday and looking forward to exhibition and then to Japanese paper shop..Sold two mushroom tables today so I am pretty pleased with myself and had a great visit with my sister.. I promise photos are to come cheers Cheryl

15.01.2022 Hello again I have finished the outfits for Fashion Parade. It happens this coming weekend at Moruya. Completed pieces were ok and I am going to try to post pictures of them from emails. I am unable to attend show so am looking forward to seeing pictures and getting any feedback from other EFTAGers.
15.01.2022 I have had a few lessons on downloading photos onto marketplace from a wonderful woman Julie. She is moving on from Candelo so sad to see such caring people leave our village but I am better from having met her. I wish her well in her new adventures. So I can now down load so if tomorrow is not so windy I will put new photos up of latest projects. The fires are creating havock in our community, hope all people are safe as well as our animals, domestic and native. My wonderful... Deb has left us, her battle was fought hard but she surrendered and now is at peace. My next years project for WOW will be attributed to her, her enthusiasm for my preliminary designs for my jewelry ideas which is in the pipeline was encouraging. More to develop on that before I can photograph progress. Yesterday I completed my first coat of resin painting on perspex using alcohol inks to pigment the resin. Not as easy as I thought it would be but loved the process and will do second coat tomorrow if winds drop off. This is the first of two rugs for Tracey some final touches to do but she was happy with it. She is off to Italy for a month with a friend in September, safe travels. Cheers for now See more

08.01.2022 Hello friends still in Sydney so I went to the art gallery to see the Lady and the Unicorn. Unbelievable the detail and size of the tapestry. It is very beautiful and amazing that it has lasted 500 years. I wonder if any of my work will be around that long. I do not think so! I then went up town to the Japanese book store on George street opposite QVB A really great shop and was able to buy the gold origami paper I have been looking for. I can not wait to get home and start my next mushroom Black and white crazy patch handmade Japanese paper Black Matt paint with bright gold highlights. Hope it turns out like the picture in my mind. At Monkey Mamia with the boys noise level horrific but they are totally engaged with the chasing game across the equipment. Bye for now Cheryl
08.01.2022 Hello this is my first attempt at my new blog, so cross your fingers I hit the right keys. Twenty years ago I relocated to the far south coast NSW from Sydney and I must say it was a great start to a new much slower lifestyle. There have been patchy times with family and health but I am here to stay until my sunset. I loved Art at school, screen printing was my joy but since coming here I dabble in everything I can get my mind to. As this blog ages I will touch on all that I... love and post pictures of redone, upcycled, repurposed whatever you want to call it furniture, textiles and clothing that will be for sale. Techniques that I am using currently is decoupage, encaustic, shibori and heat painting stainless steel to embellish cupboards , mirrors, trays, metal bowls just about anything I can get my hands on that I think can be added to. From time to time I will post second hand costume jewelry pictures that may attract your fancy, they will be for sale also. So welcome and please join me as we meander along together and if you want to ask questions please feel free and if you have ideas you want to share I am a great listener. My photo transfer was not successful so will try again another day, sorry Cheers Cheryl
06.01.2022 Hi sitting at our doctors waiting to go in. Boring so why not post and talk about my Shibori weekend coming up. I love Shibori,Japanese dyeing technique using mainly indigo dye. There are two Fabulous women at Petersham that do leather Shibori Sybella Court is a customer of theirs. Worth a look at their web page. I will be concentrating on doing some Shibori on a very fine merino wool fabric for EFTAG wow fashion parade in May this weekend at a Cathy Moon workshop. I cant wait to get home from Sydney to pack my gear and head off to beautiful Tuross Heads to gather with like minded artists to explore new ways to Shibori. I keep you in the loop with pictures. Bye for now Cheryl

04.01.2022 Hi sorry for not posting sooner I have been busy with last minute touches to exhibition pieces and I started a new side table decopauge which has been giving me grief. Exhibition pieces delivered and tonight is the opening. I have never been to an opening with my art so a little bit excited and apprehensive. To be in a room where people will be looking and commenting will be an experience so I hope it is positive and perhaps a few tips from what people are thinking. Off to Sydney tomorrow Owen is playing at the Opera House again, what experiences he is gathering under his belt, third time this year. A very talented boy. Looking forward to catching up with family last visit was full of appointments so free time whoa. Auction here I come be safe Cheryl

03.01.2022 Hi I am in Sydney for a month so while here I will go to Reverse Garbage to see what goodies I can find. Today I went to Achieve at Meadowbank and purchased some knitting needles and soutache cord and two wonderful 1960 patterns all for $20 This is crafters paradise and funds go to housing for people with disabilities. So donate what stash you have to a good cause or purchase what you need cheaply to support a good cause. A win win I would say. While here I am working on a couple of denim knitted mats and chroming an old ballot box and sewing a dress for EFTAG fashion parade. So plenty to keep me busy along with time with grandsons next post I will have some pictures bye for now
