24.01.2022 It's been a while , our gardeners have been busy planting lots of veges and flowers. The garden is looking really lush. Our lemons didn't ripen before Winter and I was worried that they wouldn't but they look to be getting there now. Our lemonade tree has flowers so hopefully we will get a good crop.
19.01.2022 We are trying out a new way of introducing compost to our garden beds. The worms can come and go as they wish through the holes in the tube. They eat the scraps and drop their castings in the beds. #Composting #Worms #FreshVegetables
16.01.2022 Nasturtium and beetroot leaves tossed in olive oil and salt and cooked in the oven for 10 minutes. Beetroot and carrots in the airfryer. Nasturtium leaves taste like bacon, well sort of, I will definitely be cooking them again
15.01.2022 Fresh Euchy mulch if anyone wants some.
14.01.2022 I bedazzled the garden today. We had criws stealing eggs from our brood boxes, so I hung a few CDs up on string, hopefully they will stay away.
13.01.2022 Did you know you can roast nasturtium and beetroot leaves? They are absolutely delicious. Just coat in olive oil and lay them on a tray with a sprinkling of salt and in 10 minutes they are ready to go. #Growyourownfood #magpiesportsclub #canterburyhurlstoneparkrsl
12.01.2022 We have just had a fresh batch of mulch delivered by #PlumbTrees. If you are doing up your garden in isolation help yourself to as much as you need.
12.01.2022 We got a whole lot of stuff done today. Thanks to Isaac and his really helpful kids and Ben. We were all practicing social distancing but still working to get the mulch into the garden.Thank you Wayne from Plumb Trees #noronahere #Mulch #plumbtrees
11.01.2022 Unfortunately someone dumped this poor rooster in our garden last night. He is a gorgeous boy but can't stay. He will be going to a farm tomorrow.
08.01.2022 We had a very productive at the garden today. Sharon, Christine, Lina, Kara and I got lots of work done. We collected lots of rich soil from around the garden and filled up a new bed, which I will plant flowers for the bees and got the green house going again. Christobel collected some fresh veges.
08.01.2022 I.found some recycled PVC pipes that would be perfect for our mini composters in our gardens. Thank you to JG Bins at Shane Park. They recycle stuff that is destined for land fill. Why pay big bucks when you can stop perfectly good building materials from land fill. #JGBins #MiniComposters
07.01.2022 Busy day at the garden today. We cleaned up the compost bin and the green house. Getting ready to pot some seeds for the next crop.
06.01.2022 How good is Spring?? Our pig faces are so bright and we have 3 colours this year, only had red last year.
02.01.2022 Elijah, Hanna and Isaac built their own bee hotel today. Elijah handled that drill like a boss. Hopefully our native solitary bees will start making a home in it very soon.
