25.01.2022 COVID Safety Rules Please take the time to read the below and familiarise yourself with all the requirements! It is important everyone follows these rules correctly! Rocky Touch have made the unusual request that grandparents who are not overseeing children and non-playing children not attend if at all possible. This is designed to reduce our spectator numbers and assist with social distancing.... Volunteers Required Rocky Touch need volunteers to man the attendance register/sanitization stations throughout the complex. If parents can spare an hour at any time throughout the day , starting at 7.30am, could they please contact Mr Pratt [email protected] with details of when they are available. The job will entail having people sign or log in on arrival. Website Rocky Touch have a new senior and junior combined website where the draw will be published weekly www.rockhamptontouch.com In these unusual times we must ensure that we abide by the stringent rules and regulations. Therefore, we are calling on everyone to chip in to enable us to provide the children with a safe and well run competition

25.01.2022 PINK WEEK Magpies raised plenty of awareness and money through donations over the PINK weekend of touch in October Together as a Club from our U6s through to U14s Teams along with donations from Rebels, St Mary’s, Caves, Superstars and other Rocky Touch teams and families around the fields we raised $800.00 ... We are so very proud to be supporting and donating the money to Jodi McFarlane and her family during this tough time To see all the kids from all the different teams, the referees and the supporters around the fields in Pink was just amazing!!! The touch community in Rocky is so great and we love that regardless of Clubs we can get on board and support each other and such a great cause. Thank you to everyone who supported Magpies over the Pink weekend Hold onto your bootlaces, plenty of photos to come along with the Best Dressed Player and Team to be announced shortly

25.01.2022 PINK WEEK IS NEXT WEEKEND Get your outfits ready to help raise awareness for a great cause! Next Friday and Saturday 30th & 31st October 2020

It is SO IMPORTANT that all of our parents, grandparents and supporters SIGN in when they arrive at the fields and socially distance 1.5m apart! Congratulations to all our Magpies team on a wonderful season and Good Luck for your games this weekend

24.01.2022 Please take the time to read the extremely important message below from Rocky Touch! ALL spectators MUST SIGN IN - NO MATTER WHAT! Please continue to respect and follow these rules to a tee to keep everyone safe and the competition running!

24.01.2022 Magpies Chickenpox Case Attention All Families, Further to Rockhampton Touch's notification Monday 9th November 2020 regarding a case of the Chickenpox at the Red Rooster Carnival, Magpies Touch Football Club has since had notification that one of our registered U10 Boys has also been suspected of having possible Chickenpox. This player participated in fixtures on 31/10/20 and throughout the weekend of the carnival 7 & 8/11/20. Unfortunately, the child displayed no symptom...s before today. Rockhampton Touch have been notified and are in the process of seeking advice from QLD Health. We will update families with further information as it arises. In the meantime, please be vigilant and contact the club As Soon As Possible if yourself, your children or any other family members become unwell. Thank you for your understanding around this matter. Maggie Goodman President

23.01.2022 Draw Week 1 It is Sooooo Important that all adults CHECK IN when arriving at the touch fields via the app. There will be 10 stations around the fields and 1 at the club house for you to scan in! This is an ABSOLUTE PRIORITY! More Covid Rules to be posted shortly!

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE. Following junior fixtures last Saturday, concerns were reported to the Public Health Unit regarding our attendance registering (or lack of).... It is a legitimate concern and one that we take seriously. Prior to the season commencing, we posted on our FaceBook page and provided every team contact with a document outlining the measures we would have in place and asked that they be circulated to all who would be involved in each team (players, coaches, parents etc) to ensure everyone knew what was expected. We regularly send out a reminder with the draw and at every fixture, an announcement is made at every stoppage in games over the loudspeakers regarding hygiene, distancing and registering attendance. It appears that some people believe attendance registering is optional but that is NOT the case - registering your attendance is absolutely COMPULSORY. It is not done to annoy you or to gather your information for another use - it is purely a SAFETY measure to prevent any possible outbreak of the virus being spread uncontrolled. If a concerted effort on everyone's part to ensure accurate and complete attendance registering is not made, it will not only put the remainder of the junior season in jeopardy, it may cause the cancellation of the Red Rooster carnival by the PHU. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR ATTENDANCE WHEN YOU ATTEND OUR COMPLEX.

Desperately needing helpers from 12:30-3pm PLEASE let us know if you can help

22.01.2022 A reminder to continue to social distance whilst at the fields, good hygiene and stay home if unwell

22.01.2022 Western Suburbs (Magpies) Touch Football Club began in 1981 with numerous senior teams and after almost two decades the club decided to begin its first Junior Team in 1999 and this is when Magpies Junior Touch Football began. With only 1 team in 1999 the club has grown quite significantly over the last 20 years. To celebrate 20 Years, We dug through the archives and found a club trophy which has been awarded to a ‘Club Champion’ since the beginning of the senior club in 1981.... We thought it only fitting to re-introduce this perpetual trophy. The club Champion can be anyone from within our club, a player, a referee, a coach or manager or even a club supporter that has bee outstanding throughout the year. Congratulations to the winner and the ‘Club Champion’ for 2020 ‘Ella Williams’. Ella is currently playing for Magpies in the A Lady competition homing in on her skills there. Her leadership and improvement in the A Ladies team this season has been great. Ella coaches and trains her U6 team with a smile and easily relates to the kids explaining the skills and demonstrating on their level. She runs the kids on the field each Saturday morning fairly and is encouraging and positive. Ella puts her hand up every Saturday to referee multiple games even though she isn’t there to play any herself and has taken other junior refs under her wing giving them the confidence to help ref more games each Saturday also. Ella is a tin shaker for PINK Day and Is an awesome Magpies junior volunteer! Congratulations Ella on a wonderful year of Touch Footy

07.01.2022 Our Annual AGM was held a fortnight ago and we would like to thank the small number of parents that came along to support the Club, we really appreciate it.
