25.01.2022 Woohoo! I'm super excited, just signed up as a last minute entry for the Northern Tasmania Wedding Expo in Launceston next weekend. I'll be there all day with my photobooth so come along and have a chat and an awesome silly photo :) Make sure you let all your bride-to-be friends know, all proceeds go to Cancer Council so get behind this great event!

20.01.2022 So tonight I got to finally debut a little project I've been working in for a while... My very own open air photobooth! It's really exciting and it went very well for the test run. I have a couple of kinks to iron out and soon it can be yours to hire, everyone had a blast testing it out and I can't wait to look at the pics tomorrow and share them all with you soon!

19.01.2022 I quickly snapped this photo at my nephews birthday party at the weekend, I had four generations of mothers and daughters in my family - My Mum, Sister, Gran and niece together and I thought this would be something that, especially little Lola, will treasure for a long time. I'd like to do a proper shoot with them and make it a priceless set of pics. Would your family like a beautiful memento that captures the generations? Get everyone together, or all the girls or boys doing their favourite hobbies together!

08.01.2022 A few people have asked me about the new name, so for those who haven't heard the word before: according to Wikipedia "Mahalo" is a Hawaiian word meaning thanks, gratitude, admiration, praise, esteem, regards, or respects. I wanted a name that encompassed all my creative endeavours (and the launch of my very own home studio that i've been tinkering away on between nappy changes and feeds!), one that wasn't such a mouthful, meant something to me and well, also I'm not Sophie Tompson any more! So here's to the next chapter, Mahalo for stopping by!

06.01.2022 The things I do to try and stay warm in tassie.... Brrrrr! Working on my lappy by the fire in uggies, dressing gown, blanket and my favourite Tasmanian survival accessory, the fingerless glove! Luck that amazing tassie morning light makes up for it :)

06.01.2022 Here's my super cute reason for taking a bit of a hiatus from all things photography + design, our beautiful newborn son Maverick. Isn't he the cutest??!! Nick Rundle and I had the funnest time getting these shots, lots of snuggles and giggles... and a couple of changes! At the moment I'm enjoying some well needed (after a loooong pregnancy!!!) time out with him at the moment but very much looking forward to getting back into more creative goodness in the new year :) Soph.

01.01.2022 Well I have a very exciting announcement: Sophie Tompson Photography + Design is moving to the beautiful north-west coast of Tasmania. I am so looking forward to this change to go back to my island home and be reinsured by the incredible landscape down there, although I wont deny I'm going to miss Gold Coast life and friends! I look forward to meeting and working with my fellow Tasmanians in the near future!
