25.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - to clean windows add 500ml of methylated spirits to 500ml water in a 1 litre spray bottle. Then using a clean, damp cloth wipe horizontally inside and vertically outside. The vertical wipes outside follow the rainfall and are less likely to trap water droplets, dust etc so will stay cleaner for longer.

16.01.2022 WE ARE BACK !! TIP FOR TODAY - TO REMOVE RUST STAINS FROM YOUR VANITY - mix cream of tartar and water to make a paste, apply to the affected area and let set for 10 - 20 minutes. Now use a scrubbing brush to remove the stain. You may reapply if required. As an alternate try Borax and lemon juice and allow paste to dry before scrubbing and rinsing it away.

13.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY -Clove oil (sold in chemists for toothaches) kills mould spores. Mix three drops in one litre of water and then use to wipe down areas susceptible to mould.

12.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - wear an old, unmatched sock on your hand to dust the house. run your hand along chair rails, mouldings, doors and any fiddly hard to reach places until the sock is dusty enough to discard, wash and or reuse !!

11.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - use eucalyptus oil in the wash with bed linen to kill bed bugs, deodorise and lift away oil stains from sheets, towels and clothing !!

11.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY -To suck up hard-to-reach gunk under your fridge, or behind a bookshelf, insert an empty paper towel roll into the end of your vacuum cleaner and bend, or flatten it, to squeeze into these difficult spots.

10.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - To clean up spills in your oven, sprinkle the spills immediately with salt. When the oven has cooled, brush away the burnt-on food with a damp sponge.

09.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - Marks inside cups and mugs are caused by the metal cutlery abrading the glazing coating the service. Try an old fashioned remedy, clean them with toothpaste !!

08.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - to get grease / oil off your garage floor cover it with kitty litter. Leave it for 12 hours and simply sweep off !

08.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - Removing kitchen and food odors: Soak pure vanilla on a cotton ball and place in a saucer. Put the saucer in the car or refrigerator to remove odors. Keep cotton ball out of reach of children as it contains some alcohol.

04.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - To easily clean greasy pans, soak the pans in hot water and then scrub it with a lemon peel and wash it as per usual !

04.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - To freshen throw pillows, put them in the dryer, one or two at a time, on the air cycle.

04.01.2022 TIP FOR TODAY - When mopping your wooden floors add hot water and tea bags to a bucket it will really bring out the colour of the floors and make them look clean and new
