22.01.2022 On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918, gunfire ceased on the Western Front, after more than four years of continuous warfare. Every year, on this day and at this time, we are silent for a minute, to remember and pay respect to those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. Lest We Forget.... 22.01.2022 This week's shenanigans included a Cubs vs Scouts night and linking ceremony. Our Cubs and Scouts competed in a reef knot relay to save their team members, and a tower building contest (they had to budget scout dollars to make sure they had the right equipment). Along with our Joeys who went swimming! #MVSG #ScoutsWA #Scouts #cubscouts #JoeyScouts #linkingceremony #cubsvscouts #lifeskills #teamwork #learnbydoing #ScoutsAustralia #workhardplayhard

21.01.2022 Huge thanks to Colin and Liz for their hard work over the last few weekends to prepare the hall for face-to-face Scouting. Our hall floor is now painted and has colourful new markings for games and activities!! Also Colin made a pretty cool handwashing station that can fold up and go into the trailer! #scouts #MVSG #volunteers #ScoutsWA #ScoutLeaders #covidsafety #ScoutsAustralia
19.01.2022 We’ve been selected to participate in Local Matters at Grill’d Midland this November! Local Matters is the Grill’d community donation program that sees each Grill’d restaurant donate $500 back into the community every month. The donation is split between 3 local community groups $300 / $100 / $100. HOW YOU CAN HELP?... We’d love your support in receiving the highest $300 donation! Simply head to Grill’d Midland during November for a burger and pop your Local Matters token in our jar. The group with the most tokens at the end of the month receives the largest donation. It’s a simple (and delicious) way to show your support! You’ll find us on a jar at Grill’d Midland, Shop T053A, Midland Gate Shopping Centre 274 Great Eastern Hwy Midland.
18.01.2022 As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, as we remember them. Lest we Forget.
13.01.2022 It's time to ask R U OK? if you notice a change, no matter how small, in your friends, family and peers. Look for clues in: What they're saying What they're doing What's going on in their life... By acting as ‘eyes and ears’ and reaching out to anyone who's going through a tough time we can show them they’re supported and encourage them to access help sooner. 12.01.2022 Celebrating International Women's Day! International Women's Day is a day on which the world celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement...s of women. The theme this year is #EachForEqual and it's aim is to draw attention to the idea that gender inequality isn’t a women’s issue, but an economic one as gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. Scouts WA empowers all of our female members, both youth and adults, to explore opportunities in leadership, life skills and many other areas in their journey through the scouting program. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate everyone's achievements, in Scouts and our wider community. "An equal world is an enabled world" - individually and collectively we can all do something to bring about gender equality. Let's all be #EachforEqual.
12.01.2022 Make sure to drop by and say hi to the 3rd Kalamunda District Rover Crew at the Midland Megaplex
11.01.2022 Unfortunately, our Group has decided that due to the current environment we will be suspending physical meetings until further notice. Our Group has decided this is the best way of maintaining the safety and health of our youth members, their families and the local community. Don't worry, we aren't stopping scouting completely, in order to live up to our mission of learning by doing and doing our best, we will be operating online via Discord.... This way we can still have our leaders and youth members still interact, and work on the Scout program. If you have enquiries or would like further information, please contact our Facebook page, or email Colin (Blacksmith) at [email protected]
