23.01.2022 Hi all. Due to the ongoing interest in the social Wednesday night social competition, we will be continuing it right up to Christmas. Why not come down to the Maiden Gully Tennis Courts at 7pm and enjoy a hit of tennis in the fast four format under lights tonight. So far the numbers have been awesome and it has been great to see new faces to the club. The social hit is free to current members, and new members are more than welcome and can sign up on the night. 13.01.2022 ARE WE THERE YET?! Almost!! We are getting ready to kick start this season off! Thank you to all who have enquired about memberships, court access and tennis for junior players. Due to COVID-19, the 20/21 Membership price will be a $10 flat rate, Single or Family. Membership still includes access to the courts and other regular events such as Fast 4 Tennis evenings and Ladies Social Hit during a weekday morning. Other social events for members will also hopefully go ahead, st...ay tuned. Members are also provided with the code to the (external) Key Safe for access to the courts 7 days a week. Membership fees can be left with the staff at the Maiden Gully Post Office in an envelope addressed to our club (please include your name too of course) or fees can also be direct deposited into the club’s bank account. You will need to contact us for a membership form first before paying any fees. If anyone signs up for coaching with Giant Tennis (Brandt Fleming), and you nominate Maiden Gully Tennis Club as the club you affiliate with, the fees you pay to Giant Tennis for coaching includes the membership fee to Maiden Gully. Once we are able to implement the correct COVID-19 compliance, the courts can open for use. We expect this happen very soon. When we know, you will know!! Although the Eaglehawk & District Tennis Association doesn’t have any junior teams, our club very warmly welcomes capable Junior aged players (14yo and above), to join one of two of our Senior teams. Each team will consist of a mix of junior and older experienced players with the main focus to have fun, enjoying an afternoon of tennis and learning the art of competition. We already have some teenagers keen to play this year after filling in once or twice with our Senior team last season, because they enjoyed it so much. The cost of playing a season with the EDTA is $50 per player. There is also a ball fee each week of $5. Not being able to commit each and every week is ok too, and that goes for Senor players as well. Please don't hesitate to contact the club or comment on this page if you have any other queries. 13.01.2022 Greetings from the Maiden Gully Tennis Club Committee!! We have been very pleased to welcome many new members this season and equally as pleased with those renewing their membership. Thank you for your continued support. Hopefully all members have the code to access the key for court use. Tennis Victoria requires all sporting clubs to write a COVID-Safe Plan and to appoint a COVID Safety Officer, which we have done. All players (competition or social) entering the court need... to follow the rules posted on the fence and register their contact details on arrival using the QR Code (hanging inside the gate or via this link https://forms.gle/uEzGTcGbGPcsX2FR8). Whilst we hope to be at the tail end of this pesky pandemic, the club still has to implement a COVID Plan to comply with Contact Tracing requirements as the threat of active cases continues to be a possibility. We thank you in advance for your co-operation with this. We have also had many enquiries regarding the Fast 4 format. We hope to have up this up and running early 2021. In the interim however, as restrictions continue to ease with regards to 'Public Gatherings', the club hopes to run a social gathering before Christmas. From the 22nd of November the 'Last Step' of the State-wide Restrictions allows up to 50 people to gather outdoors from any number of households. Some light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel.
