19.01.2022 On Tuesday, @millerracecars wanted to tune @michael_naumann unbelievably nice nova on my mainline dyno, and I couldn’t have been more excited. For the last few ...days we have been getting a tune up that should go right down the race track with out issue. The value of this dyno is unreal and every time we use it, we just fall further in love with it. @precisionchassisinc built an absolutely stunning hot rod and I’m glad they chose my facility to get it dialed in. 14.01.2022 When testing a new ProHub AWD Dyno, destined for the Sunshine Coast in Australia, we thought we would take the opportunity to share some features not all users of Mainline Dyno’s are familiar with. This particular dyno has the " Haltech ECU data logging option purchased by the customer, which means any of the Haltech CAN outputs (or even old serial outputs) can be viewed and logged in the Dyno Software. A sample screen shot shows a Test screen where Dyno users can check al...l ECU Can channels broadcast to the Dyno, additionally, as the car under test also has a Haltech CAN Wideband fitted, the CAN data from this device is captured by the Dyno software. The screen shot of the Dyno Analyse Screen shows 3 runs where a simple duty cycle change of the boost control solenoid table was change to give us 3 levels of Boost and Power, the screen shot also shows Fuel Pressure, and as expected the Fuel Pressure raises with Boost. The Boost pressure and Fuel pressure shown are actual CAN ECU channels broadcast from the Haltech Elite 1500 in this case, into the Dyno software. Any broadcast ECU CAN channels can be viewed, such as RPM, Water Temp, Air Temp, IDC, IGN timing, Pulse Width, AFR, Target Closed Loop Boost Target etc. What this sort of feature is handy for is the tuner doesn’t have to waste time connecting any normal dyno inputs up to they car, saving time and a bit less hassle as far as having cables lying around between Dyno cabinet and the vehicle. One really cool feature that has been around for a while, but we haven’t shown much is the function of the Mainline Dyno software can send various Dyno channels back to the Haltech ECU which in turn makes them visible in the Haltech ESP software. In this case Dyno Power, Dyno Derived Torque and Dyno AFR was logged, one screen shot shows an overlay of the 3 boost setting again, the other screen shot a simple Power and Torque trace in the Haltech Datalog Viewer. This option can make the tuning process much more streamlined as the Tuner doesn’t have to continually refer back to the dyno software to try and estimate where the relevant power was made in relation to boost and AFR etc. This functionality is available in a couple of other ECU brands when used in conjunction with a Mainline Dyno. *Note* - you will need Haltech 2.37 Firmware or later for this function. #haltech #prohub #mainlinedyno #smartdyno

12.01.2022 A good example in this video of logging ignition timing via CAN into a ProHub Chassis Dyno, and using this information for one of our advanced MBT (Minimum Timing for Best Torque) features, plotting torque over ignition timing and finding the sweet spot !
