25.01.2022 On 14 March 2020 Main Ridge CFA was called to a car accident on Mornington Flinders Rd, near Shands Rd and Barkers Rds. Unfortunately 2 cars had been in a head-on accident. Luckily everyone was safely removed from the cars and transferred to ambulances for observation and care. We hope everyone involved is ok. Thanks to Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and the tow truck driver for assisting.

14.01.2022 The CFA's fire danger period (fire restrictions) will be lifted at at 01:00 hours (1:00am) on Monday 16th March 2020. This includes the entire Mornington Peninsula Shire boundary. That means that from this Monday you can resume burning off in accordance with local laws set by the Shire, N.B. Local Laws dictate the size of property, the days of the week and times of the day that burning off in residential areas is permitted.
10.01.2022 https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/leave-early Tomorrow, Monday 30 Dec 2019, the CFA has declared a day of Total Fire Ban throughout Victoria, and has determined that the Fire Danger Rating on the Mornington Peninsula will be Extreme. What should I expect?... Expect extremely hot, dry and windy conditions. If a fire starts and takes hold, it will be uncontrollable, unpredictable and fast moving. Spot fires will start, move quickly and come from many directions. Homes that are situated and constructed or modified to withstand a bushfire, that are well prepared and actively defended, may provide safety. You must be physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions. What should I do? Consider staying with your property only if you are prepared to the highest level. This means your home needs to be situated and constructed or modified to withstand a bushfire, you are well prepared and you can actively defend your home if a fire starts If you are not prepared to the highest level, leaving high risk bushfire areas early in the day is your safest option Be aware of local conditions and seek information by listening to your emergency broadcasters, go to cfa.vic.gov.au or call the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226
10.01.2022 Please Note: this facebook page does not provide real time fire warnings, please visit this website and like CFA (Country Fire Authority) for up to date fire warnings. http://warnings.cfa.vic.gov.au/#map
08.01.2022 Cleaning up around your property? You need to be aware that if using fire to clean up, you must register the details on 1800 668 511. Please notify your neighbours and do not fires on the nature strip. For larger properties, up to 10 acres, you may burn off on Fridays and Saturdays when there are no Fire Restri...ctions in place. You should not burn off when winds are high, or high winds are forecast not only on the day of your burn but for the days afterwards. See more
07.01.2022 What do you get when you cross a great cause with a great community? $57,000 that’s what!!! With donations from local businesses, a lot of hard work and a very... generous crowd on the day the Main Ridge Bowls and Petanque Club raised $57,000 for the Main Ridge CFA to purchase a Thermal Imaging Camera and to transport hay to Gippsland farmers A beautiful sunny Sunday proved to be the perfect backdrop for a wonderful community inspired fundraising day. 02.01.2022 Dear Neighbours, Please be advised the Fire Restrictions will be introduced in our area from 0100 Monday 16th December 2019.
02.01.2022 Dear Neighbours and friends, Following the very successful fundraiser by the Main Ridge Bowls and Petanque Club, Main Ridge CFA has been able to order the Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) it has long been hoping for. We now have a delivery date of mid April. Basic training of brigade members has commenced via the CFA Training web page. The required comprehensive training program to some of the senior members, has been delayed by restrictions caused by COVID 19. Plans for the ...brigade to purchase LED battery powered flood lights (for assisting at night time incidents) are well in hand, as too is the purchase of additional L shaped torches, essential for structure fire operation and Firefighter safety. All of this has been made possible by the generous contributions made by the community. More good news to follow next week........... See more
