24.01.2022 As of 30 March 2020, the Australian Government has announced a new 3rd stimulus package to support employees and businesses. Introducing the Job Keeper Payment. This is the latest in the Australian Governments huge economic response in tackling the Economic Crisis and Health Crisis that is currently being caused by Covid-19. Under the JobKeeper Payment, eligible businesses significantly impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak will be able to access a subsidy from the Government ...to continue paying their employees. This assistance will help businesses to keep people in their jobs and re-start when the crisis is over. For employees, this means they can keep their job and earn an income even if their hours have been cut. The JobKeeper Payment is a temporary scheme open to businesses impacted by the Coronavirus. The JobKeeper Payment will also be available to the self-employed. The Government will provide $1,500 per fortnight per employee for up to 6 months. Join James Mansfield in his 3rd video to hear about the new package and whether you and your business are eligible.

14.01.2022 SCAM ALERT! Did we call you on your cell phone? Answer probably not There’s a new version of an old tax scam doing the rounds, but guess what scammers, we’re... exposing your secrets: - First, they’ll call with an automated message saying they’re from the tax department saying you’re being audited. - You’ll be asked to select an option to be put through an operator (*cough scammer*) who says you owe a tax debt. - If you question the caller or hang up, you’ll likely receive a call back about 30 mins later which appears to come from an AFP phone number in Sydney. (For all you detectives, it looks like us. BUT IT’S NOT, the scammers are just imitating our switchboard). - An AFP Federal Officer will then claim you’ll be arrested unless you pay the fine. DO NOT PAY! Remember - the AFP will NEVER request payment of fines or other monies over the phone. If you believe you or someone you know might be a scam victim, or have any information, you can report it through SCAMwatch (www.scamwatch.gov.au) or your local police.

13.01.2022 We have seen an increased amount of activity from the ato with additional lodgement requirements and much more activity with any outstanding debt.
