24.01.2022 Sixth set of OCD 2020 pics finally in after issues of not being able to create and album! There will be some which are duplicate snaps of some cars and some not very good. I make NO CLAIM as to taking a picture of every vehicle there!

22.01.2022 MAPS 35th Anniversary Day Sunday Oct 11th saw almost 50 members gather at the Moonta Building and Landscape Supplies yard on the most perfect morning imaginable. It was also good to see a good array of vehicles in attendance including a couple from the twenties. The Event Sign On and Covid sheets were cleverly placed by Richard Hopkins in the Nursery shop, at the back, to ensure the women saw as many items for sale as possible. Just after 9.00 the first group headed just down... the road to the museum and train station. Making sure covid seating rules were complied with on the carriages the train headed off on its first run with Engine Driver Richard Bastion at the helm. While they were away the second group were entertained in the Blacksmiths shop learning how to fire up a forge and then heat, bend and weld iron. Then when the first train trip was completed the groups swapped over with some also visiting the museum. It was my first time on the train which only gave a teaser of what there is to see there so I must go back one day and have a good walk around. Then around 12.00’ish we all proceeded down to the Pt Hughes Tavern for lunch. The choices of fish, steak or chicken were all well proportioned and desserts looked good as well. President Peter then made a few presentations, these being to Richard Hopkins for organising the day, Richard Bastion for driving the train and Haydn Andrews for having the second oldest car on the day. Clearly if you want to win a prize in MAPS it helps to be called Richard. (There's a joke there somewhere! Editor) at the Museum Thanks to Richard Hopkins and helpers for putting on a successful Anniversary do. Mossy Some of the day's activities pictured

16.01.2022 The recent AGM was certainly very different as our regular venue was not available. Thanks to the Yorke Valley Hotel for providing accommodation at short notice. Amongst the many items covered, the annual awards were presented as follows; Most Outstanding Member(s) Award MAPS is indeed fortunate to have large numbers of very committed and active members. To choose the most outstanding member(s) is, then very difficult but in this year of unusual circumstances two stand out. ...Continue reading

10.01.2022 The 2020 Old Car Day organised by the Gawler Veteran, Vintage and Classic Vehicle has been going some years with the splendid venue of the Bethany Reserve as its established setting. 2020 looks to have surpassed the previous best attendance- well over 200 vehicles filling all the available space. I tried to snap as many as I could, running out of battery and unable to keep up with the growing stream of vehicles. Yes, I may have missed some ! Whilst I may have been busy with the camera, that was an easy task compared to the work done by the many Gawler members who actually supervised the vehicle parking! With such a large number of photos, I've had to create an album. Let's see if I can get it to work!
