14.01.2022 MATERNITY LEAVE On maternity leave as of today. Want to thank each and every one of you for supporting my massage business. 14.01.2022 "HAVE YOU HAD PIRIFORMIS PAIN?" * Please answer "y" or "n" below. TRUTH: Research shows that this is much more common in FEMALES than males and I am really inte...rested in seeing if this is true by the responses we get. WHAT WE KNOW.... is that there is a thick but short muscle called your piriformis that attaches from your tailbone to your leg. It's job is to help rotate and stabilize the hip. When it gets overworked (and MAD ) it can swell up and press on the sciatica nerve creating a referral pain down your leg. So in other words, A TIGHT PIRIFORMIS can be a big pain! SELF-TEST: While lying on your back if you notice one foot "turns-out" to the side, really good chance your piriformis is TIGHT. HOW TO HELP YOURSELF....use the image as a guide for the common trigger points related to piriformis syndrome. Just rest with the ball on your butt for 30 to 90 seconds in each of those spots. A tennis ball should be the perfect density and allow the best amount of pressure for most athletes. WHAT TO FIX....if you have reoccurring bouts of piriformis pain you main want to investigate postural deviations such as: - leg length discrepency - overpronation of the foot - uneven hips Each of these deviations will shift the position of the tailbone and tighten up the piriformis. Hope this helps, Jeremy https://www.romfit.com/products/tbb Become a Better Human
