Your girls no expert but certainly well informed - and if you’re open to expanding the quality of your husbandry than I would be stoke...d to discuss the importance of how heat and UVB is converted to usable Vitamin D3 in reptiles. Infra-Red, Basking Lights, Heat Cords, Heat Mats and even LEDs all play their part depending on your set-up and fixtures. It’s about understanding how to get the best out of each lamp or appliance. Understanding the functions of each type is the first step. Just because breeders and hobbyists have kept reptiles a certain way for XYZ years doesn’t make it the best way. It just makes it ‘a way’. There is always room for improvement. The goal should always be wild replication with the perks of captive care. I.E. the best of both worlds.

16.01.2022 Just a quick update, we are in the process of upgrading the rest of our enclosures and setups. This has been slower than we were hoping for but we are getting ...there, which will include a group of 12 enclosure for breeding purposes only. We are also constructing a new hatchie rack. Over this period we have had some new arrivals to the Den, firstly we have a wonderful pair of Goldfield's (tiliqua rugosa), secondly a pair of Nephrurus Levis Levis Pilbarensis also a pair of Nephrurus Wheeleri (these are a combined effort by Amy & Michelle - Pets everywhere) and the Den. We have had another first for the Den, 5 baby Long nose Dragons these are an awesome species to add to your collection, check them out the males are stunners when adults

09.01.2022 Hi All, Dragons Den & Majestic Monitors Adelaide firstly would like to wish everyone a Merry and safe Xmas and a Happy New Year. We would also like to thank eve...ryone for the patronage with the bugs and the support so many of you have shown and given to us this year . We would like especially like to thank Pets Everywhere and Arcadia Australia for their ongoing support with advice and knowledge. Our season for 2020 is looking very exciting with 12 new wicked female bearded dragons and some awesome looking males more on that later. Our monitors are growing and again are looking good as are some of our new species for 2020. The 2019 season was not a total wipe out, we do have some dragons growing and others about to hatch. This has allowed us to work on a new feeding regime and it has also enabled us to work on a rarer species, we have had some limited but positive success more on that soon we are still in the process of reconstructing enclosures and racks for the upcoming season. All that said we wish you all once again a fantastic and safe Xmas, a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all in 2020. Then practicall...y applying the knowledge step by step, and then straight back to reading. The reading of this content has always been a double tick for me. I enjoy learning and I enjoy the content. Reading for pleasure is so important (like UVB for Bearded Dragons ). You can not undervalue the perks of reading a book simply because you want to. These are some of first reptile, amphibian and invertebrate books, I ever read. All serve as excellent introductions to husbandry and general keeping. It is outside of the breeding season at the moment, so thi...s will continue to develop as the seasons progress. As always, 'Energy in = directly the amount of energy available to be used/displayed'. The more accurate in spectrum and quantity our provision of energy provided within light becomes, the more energy our pets will have to use/display wild-like behaviours. Small changes can have huge outcomes. See more
