22.01.2022 Wow! How good are these vehicles? Celebrating 100 years since manufacturing started the Alvis motor car club is undertaking a 26 day tour. Melbourne to Phillip Island started the event then Lakes Entrance , Bermagui, Goulburn and now Leura in the Blue Mountains. The routes are not just on highways but mostly on scenic country roads, stopping at various places of interest - such as the old timber trestle bridge in these photos. The last two days have entailled seriously steep climbs, a challenge for the old cars: up the Kings Hwy from Batemans Bay and between Goulburn and Oberon. Keep watching further reports to follow on progress.
14.01.2022 Hi all MTS devoted FB watchers I am about to exhaust myself again trying to keep up with young Mark Weller. He finishes a 19 day rally then attends further activities in Albury. This venue had 45 cars attending. Whilst there he has visited Bandiana, the Migrant hostel and a DC2 undergoing restoration. It is similar to the craft which made a force landing in 1934 on the Albury race track; no airfield then, due to bad weather whilst headed for the founding of Melbourne centenar...y. But for this lad he had not just spent the previous days kicking the tyres,( Not on an Alvis) but stopped off in Tumut at a specialist grand piano maker who uses mainly Australian timbers, offer pianos with an extra octave or two. These require wider keyboards. They were treated to a recital by two talented musicians. The steel has the stretched strings. Returning to Albury the shot of the vehicles has Marks in the centre. 13.01.2022 Did I not say this man can not be held down, as I said in my recent post he was headed to Aberdeen. I will let his words explain the photos Dear All, > > Now in Aberdeen, after an enjoyable four days staying with friends south of Edinburgh, visiting various castles/palaces, then two days with friends near Dundee to visit the new V and A design museum and some more castles. Shall not bore you with pictures of all castles, but a few here are as follows: > ... > Sir Walter Scot’s Abbotsford House, Hopetoun House, House of Dun, Fyvie Castle. Also a large painting of General Gordon (not Gordon of Khartoum) who stayed loyal to King George III but still felt proud of his Scottishness even though he was not a Jacobite (supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie) - so he wore the tartan, despite its being illegal as a symbol of the Jacobites. It is insured for 22 million pounds Sterling! See more
08.01.2022 Will have to get one of those ankle bracelets for our David Williams where next will we find him. In this shot looking absolutely exhausted after a great day at the EduTech International Conference and Expo 2019 at the Sydney International Conference Centre with many acres walked and seminar visits. David's take on the interesting exhibits and one of the interesting seminars Future Proofing the Next Generation of Workers provided particularly interesting information to David in formulating the way forward for MTS. Well done David!
06.01.2022 Alistair Nicholas, CEO Cornerstone Group, explains how lobbyists operate to a recent Defence Business Acumen course delivered by MTS. The group was fascinated and really enjoyed the presentation.
05.01.2022 This man is amazing! Just the other week he is driving around country Oz in an old car (apologies in a Alvis) and now on the other side of the globe. As usual many points of interest to share. Well done Mark Weller. Images in sequence L-R Imperial War Museum Duxford aviation collection Concorde and an auto-gyro followed by a Leonides Major aircraft engine built by Alvis cars and fitted to Royal Navy helicopters in the 1950's and 60's. Newhailles Hall outside Edinburgh and lastly the spit mechanism from Georgian time driven by heat in the chimney. Such spits were previously operated by a dog on a treadmill or a boy turning a handle. Mark is now in Aberdeen so no doubt we will see some more interesting photos
05.01.2022 MTS Re-registered by ASQA until June 2026 After a long review and audit the federal training regulator has re-registered MTS until June 2026. This is a strong endorsement of the quality of the training that MTS develops and delivers. Great work by our compliance managers Jenni Crawford and Jonathan Brough, supported by all of the admin team. The facilitators have also done a great job at the coalface with our students. We look forward to continuing to deliver engaging, relevant training that is tailored to our client’s needs.

03.01.2022 Hi All, they reckon they could not pin down the Scarlet Pimpernel well may he learn some lessons from our intrepid traveler Mr Alvis Mark Weller. He has been the Central West and now moving South. The initial photo is the craft of making millet brooms, next is outside an old gold mine in Adelong thence Small Arms Factory in Lithgow. Then the arboretum with some amazing bonsai. Moving on to the War Memorial the image is a lookout disguised as a tree trunk.Images from Canberra are Old Parliament House and the Speakers Chair. The last is the Japanese Garden in Cowra. Enjoy!
