25.01.2022 Need some gear before the weekend? The Majura merchandise shop will be open Wednesday and Thursday this week from 5 - 7pm.

25.01.2022 It's pretty wet outside, and so just a reminder of our wet weather protocols. Please assume that matches will be going ahead unless we tell you otherwise. Matches will only generally be cancelled if the grounds are unsafe to play on. We'll post on here by 8am on Saturday morning if any games are cancelled. If you have an away game you'll need to check the facebook page of that club, as field conditions vary and even if games are cancelled at Dickson conditions may be better elsewhere and games are still going ahead.

25.01.2022 Have you checked if last season’s boots still fit? Now’s the time as Rebel are offering 20% off football footwear and clothing for members of heir loyalty program at their civic store this weekend. Member’s purchases directly support our club, as we receive a percentage of your sale as credit which we use to buy equipment - keeping costs down for you! A win-win!! So head into Rebel civic this weekend. They can sign you up on the spot if you’re not already a member - it’s quick, and and free too.

24.01.2022 Due to the expected wet weather, and the fields already being quite soggy, the ACT Government has closed Dickson and Watson ovals (and all other ovals) for training Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. Giving the ovals a break will help ensure they are in the best shape possible for this Saturday.

23.01.2022 We're very proud that when the Canberra Times runs a story on woman's football they showcase our players. And why wouldn't they - we're very lucky to have so many talented young ladies and a very strong and supportive girls program at the club. Thanks for flying the flag for Majura!

22.01.2022 A quick heads up. We’ve got a few amendments to our constitution we need to make, so we’ve organised a special general meeting to (hopefully) approve our amended constitution. It will be held at the clubhouse on Saturday 26 September at 1145. We’ll post the details of the changes on our website closer to the date.

21.01.2022 NPLY Trials Following our successful application to join the NPLY competition for next season (yay us!) we're very excited to be holding trials on the following dates: Monday November 9, 16 & 23 @ Downer Playing Fields... U13 U14 NPL 5.30-6.45pm U16 U18 NPL 7.00-8.15pm Wednesday November 11, 18 & 25 @ Dickson Playing Fields U13 U14 NPL 5.30-6.45pm U16 U18 NPL 7.00-8.15pm The first two weeks of trials are open to all interested players. The last week of trials on November 23 and 25 will be be invitation. All players must register at https://form.jotform.com/202887604285059 (players who have already registered for our NPLY summer training program don't need to register again).

20.01.2022 Want to know why club legends and our field set-up superstars Bob and Neil are looking so happy these days? It’s because field set up is so much easier thanks to our new Toro Workman GTX, newly arrived this season thanks to our great supporters at Bayldon Ag Queanbeyan. It’s already gotten quite a work out, and even copes with the early starts about as easily as Bob and Neil do. So if you’re in the market for turf care or farming equipment then make sure you head out to Bayldon Ag and you’ll be as happy as these two!

20.01.2022 Just a follow up to our post advising that all ACT government grounds are shut. It looks like pretty much everything in the ACT is shut, including the private schools - see the link listing all ground closures. So enjoy your sleep in and stay warm and dry.

19.01.2022 Thanks to all the kids and adults who turned up tonight for a fun evening of football. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves. And we appreciate all the help in setting up and packing up. We’ve got plenty of room for more players - both juniors and adults for walking football. So hope to see you all next Friday afternoon from 5:30.

19.01.2022 We’re sure our players can show them how it’s done. Just don’t use toilet paper - mum or dad may not be too thrilled .......

18.01.2022 Given the smoky conditions and on Capital Football’s advice noting the potential health risks today’s summer soccer and walking football programs are cancelled. See you all next week.

18.01.2022 Tonight’s NPLY sessions are cancelled given the wet conditions. Haven’t gotten around to registering - do so now at https://form.jotform.com/202887604285059

18.01.2022 Is your child interested in being a game leader? Capital Football are holding a free training session. Follow the link for registration details.

18.01.2022 Great to see the efforts of one of our very dedicated families being recognised by Capital Football. It’s pretty hard not to run into a member of the Sharwood family at Dickson on game days - they’re everywhere, and there’s a few of them! Love your work, and thanks from all of us at Majura. Hope to see you at there soon.

17.01.2022 We're very happy to say that football is back this Saturday. Draws for our u10s and older are available on Sports TG and team names and numbers are available on our website. Of course it won't be the same as you've experienced in the past as we make sure we're all COVID safe, and we ask for your support in making sure you follow the various requirements we have in place. See you Saturday!!!

15.01.2022 It’s been great to see our players back at training this week, despite the foggy conditions tonight. It helped with social distancing though - if you could see other players you were too close! And stay tuned for confirmation on when games restart - coming very soon.

14.01.2022 Dickson and Watson ovals are closed until Tuesday and so all training on Monday is cancelled.

14.01.2022 Head into Rebel Civic this weekend to receive 20% off football clothing and footwear, and support our club at the same time.

14.01.2022 To Majura Football Families and Friends, Football Federation of Australia (FFA) has announced a suspension of all football (soccer) activities until after Easter, Tuesday 14 April. This means there will be no training, games, meetings or any other football activities. The decision comes as the latest in a series of measures being introduced by the FFA to combat the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and places the concerns, health and wellbeing of the Australian football and wider co...mmunity as the highest priority. While we are all keen to get out on the pitch and get the season underway, we must consider the health risk that the spread of the virus poses to players and their families. Slowing the spread of the virus is the most important thing to do now and the only way we are likely to get any chance of a season of football in 2020. Majura will send out updates as the situation changes. We will continue to do all the behind the scenes work in preparation for the season including organising teams and draws in the hope that the season will start on May 2 as planned for all juniors. The senior competition start has already been delayed. For those players who trialled in U10 - U16 teams, we'll get your team lists out by the end of this week so while you may not be able to train for a month at least you'll know who your new team mates are. For now practise at home. You don't need much space to juggle a ball to improve your touch and you only need a wall and a ball to improve your passing.

14.01.2022 If you registered to play football this year prior to 19 June then you're eligible to receive a partial refund of your fees. All refunds are being processed by Capital Football direct, and you'll need to register on their site to have your refund processed.

13.01.2022 All ACT Government sportsgrounds are closed today so our summer training session will not be going ahead tonight.

12.01.2022 We’re lucky at Majura to have good grounds that have held up well against the rain, so all games are going ahead as scheduled. Don’t forget if you’re coming to a Majura home ground that you need to register your attendance. As part of our COVID safety plan, anyone attending a Majura home game is required to sign in. ... You can do this through our online register or in hard copy at the clubhouse. The online register can be accessed at this link https://bit.ly/2XDAs0h or via the QR code displayed around our clubhouse and canteen.

11.01.2022 And that’s a wrap on the first week of trials. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week when we all do it all again

10.01.2022 Unfortunately due to this latest downpour the grounds crew have called off all games at both Dickson and Watson. ALL GAMES CANCELLED

10.01.2022 A big congratulations to our legendary volunteer, Bob Parkin , who has been awarded the Capital Chemist Volunteer of the Month for September! Anyone who has ever visited Dickson oval on game days would be familiar with Bob, as he has been volunteering with us for the past 34 years - yes, 34 years!! Bob won the award for his constant efforts in being there every Saturday from before 5am to after 5pm, helping to both set up and pack things at the end of the day. A truly phenomenal effort, and that doesn't include all the work he does on the other days behind the scenes. We're very lucky to have him with us, and we're thrilled that his education and effort has been acknowledged by Capital Football - Official and Capital Chemist. Make sure you say congratulations and thanks when you see him around next season for season number 35!

10.01.2022 Given the current severe storm warning and potential hail tonight’s goalkeeper training is cancelled, as is all team training. And don’t forget to get your car undercover too just in case!

09.01.2022 It was wonderful to see so many happy little (and big) faces today at Majura. We missed you all!! Thanks very much for all your support and goodwill in the leadup to today, and to our many volunteers for all their hard work in ensuring sure football could resume safely. And we really appreciated everyone's effort today, whether maintaining social distancing, patiently queuing for the BBQ or packing up the fields at their end of the game - it made our job so much easier. We're looking forward to doing it all again next week!

08.01.2022 Our trials for u10 players and above who wish to be graded into the stronger divisions start next week. Players will need to be registered and paid with Majura before they can trial. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early and don’t forget your shin guards and water bottles. Remember, trialling is not compulsory, and players who want to play in a more social environment with their friends are not required to trial.

08.01.2022 Registrations for the 2020 season are now open. We’d love to have you join us at Canberra’s friendliest and most welcoming football club. Check out our website at www.majurafc.org.au for information on how to register.

07.01.2022 Football is back! We're very happy to confirm that (subject to Capital Football endorsement of our updated COVID safety plan) we will have our u9s and younger back playing on June 27, while the u10 and above age groups will restart on July 18. We're very busily putting together draws, rosters etc. Stand by for further information from our age group coordinators or your coach and manager. Please be aware that things will be a bit different (including playing times) and so ...make sure you carefully read all the information as its released. And to make sure that we meet our social distancing requirements we are requesting that each player be accompanied by only one parent or carer. See you next Saturday!

05.01.2022 Due to the water on the field, all u5 to u11 games at Dickson oval are cancelled today. We will advise about u12s and above by mid-morning.

04.01.2022 We're on the hunt for a technical director to plan and manage football programs and drive the technical development of all our players and coaches. If you’re passionate about football, have a minimum of a C Licence, have at least five years of coaching experience, are a good communicator and leader, then this is the job for you. 03.01.2022 Majura FC has applied to enter the Youth National Premier League competition in 2021. The NPL Youth is the highest competition offered in youth (mostly boys) football in the ACT and surrounding region. Clubs within the NPL Youth are required to field U13, U14, U16 and U18’s teams. The competition runs from March to September each year and players are required to commit to a higher level of training and game play than at junior league level. Majura will find out at the end of ...October if it's application has been successful. The club is quietly confident so we have already organised a summer program for players who may be interested in joining Majura NPLY teams. Majura will be holding open trials for these teams once we know for sure we have been accepted into the competition. The program commences this Monday and will run at Downer Playing Fields on Mondays and Dickson Fields on Wednesdays. U13 and U14NPL players will run from 5:30-6:45 with U16-U18s running from 7:00 to 8:15. All players attending are required to register online at https://form.jotform.com/202887604285059

And just to confirm, club legend Bob (our model in the photos) is not included in the sale - he's just there for scale. He's priceless

02.01.2022 Some of our younger girls were out today celebrating the announcement that Australia and New Zealand will host the 2023 women’s World Cup. Great news! We’re all looking forward to our future Matildas (and Socceroos) getting back on the pitch tomorrow.

02.01.2022 Due to the ongoing wet weather and the state of the grounds, ACT Sportsgrounds have closed all ACT Government playing fields for matches and training until next Thursday. So unfortunately there will be no Majura home games this Saturday. Away games may still go ahead if they were scheduled at a non-ACT Government ground. We'll try and keep you updated or keep an eye on the Capital Football page for details of those games.
