24.01.2022 Our Hornets and Jumbos children have been busy with Spring planting and caring for our new Sustainability garden area. We have planted fruit trees, tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, carrots, sweet potato and various herbs. The chef is already using some of the herbs in his cooking, and we can’t wait to harvest more produce in a few weeks! Growing and cooking vegetables is an easy way to encourage young children towards more healthy eating: #nationalnutritionweek, #tryforfive

23.01.2022 Today our children and our educators acknowledged all the men and women whom have served our country as members of the Australian Defence Forces. Many of our staff are veterans, the children's of veterans or current serving members, or spouses and part of military families. We thank them for their service. To commemorate Remembrance Day, the children made poppies and our educators discussed via age-appropriate comments talking the importance of remembering the past wars. Lest we forget.

17.01.2022 As part of our ongoing celebration of Children's Book Week, children's author Sandra Bennett visited us - to and read us from her book: "Emma The Eager Emu". Sandra used puppets and soft toys to narrate the book to the children. The fictional story focuses on the nature of each bird's similarities and differences. The book also included fun facts for children to learn more about these amazing birds at the end of the story. Later on during the week, our music teacher Maureen also continued the fun - with some great Australian books, full of singing and dancing.

10.01.2022 Our Hornets children have been gardening over the past few days! Today they planted some new shrubs in the garden beds and have started preparing our sustainability garden area ready for the planting of tomatoes and herbs. They have also been learning about bugs after discovering snails and worms in the gardens what a great learning experience!

08.01.2022 Our Spitfires children love their Yoga wit Travis! They find some of the balancing poses a little tricky, but they enjoy bending their bodies and seeing what they can do!

01.01.2022 Talking with your child about biting, and how it makes the other child feel when they are hurt, is a great start to helping children to understand that 'biting' - whilst common, is not an ideal behaviour!. This great Starting Blocks article provides insights into why a child might bite, how our educators respond to biting incidents, and what you can do to help. https://bit.ly/3l0Hvtj
