20.01.2022 That’s how you conserve your food

19.01.2022 Support Your Local Business Many small businesses and their staff will be hit hard during this period of uncertainty resulted from #COVID19. We are already ...seeing some restaurants reducing their hours as less people are dining out and our own hospo mates having their shifts cut. About 1 in 4 workers in Australia is employed on a casual basis (that’s roughly 2.6 million workers) and 80% of them work in small to medium businesses. Even with the government’s stimulus package, the reality is that many vulnerable workers and small businesses will suffer immensely from the lack of cash flow. So what can we do to help? Support and shop from your local small business where possible! Even just from our social media feed, we can see that many restaurants have been taking additional steps like increased sanitisation, using disposable dishes & cutlery, offering free delivery, etc. You can still support your local cafe & takeaway joints while practicing good hygiene (e.g. cashless transactions) and social distancing. Order takeout or delivery and, where possible, try to order directly to save them the exorbitant commission apps like Uber Eats takes. As a page with a small but strong food-oriented and socially-active fanbase, we felt obligated to speak up about the serious and real impact the challenging circumstances around COVID-19 will have on not just small local restaurants and cafes but small businesses in general and do what we can to help spread info on how we can support them. From all of us at Brissy Eater, take care of yourself, take care of each other and stay safe #SupportYourLocalBusiness #Supportlocal Latest update from the government (20/03/20): There's a limit on no more than 1 person per 4 square metres of space.

15.01.2022 A customer came in pick up his takeaway order. The order came up to $30 which he paid using his credit card. He then put in $50 in our tip jar and thanked us for staying open for takeaway and delivery orders. You don't know how much our staff was touched by his generosity!

13.01.2022 Dear Uber Eats Australia and Deliveroo, We're writing this message to you on behalf of ourselves and a whole industry that's being brought slowly to it's knees... by Covid 19 and the roll on effects of what's happening right in Australia and around the world. As you'd be well aware, with the 35% industry average sale commission that you guys take, most of us run at a loss to operate this delivery service but we do so because we want to give our loyal customers the luxury of having food delivered to their front door (we care greatly about the people who support us). Now as we get deeper and deeper into this pandemic and people are becoming more cautious of leaving the house, delivery services such as your own start to have a monopoly of being the first choice over eating in store (where we take 100% of the sale not 65% as per using your services) which is our preferred way of feeding our guests. You're in a position of control and we're calling out for your help and assistance during coming months. Whilst we completely understand that you're running a business and profit margins need to be maintained, we also need to ensure that we don't sink if people decide to stay in and with your current rates and formatting, a lot of people will. There's 1 of 3 ways in which we would like to ask as a whole industry, for your help. 1. Reduce the 35% commission - this will help us justify using these services right now when in house dining numbers are decreasing across the industry. If restaurants go under, you will also be the ones that suffer in the end so we need to work together on creating the best scenario and outcome. 2. Drop the delivery fee - by doing so, this will make it even more appealing to consumers to order delivery from their favourite restaurants. Whilst we still make zero profit from the transaction, it will help immensely with cash flow - cash flow that allows us to pay rent, pay staff, the cleaners and everyone in between. 3. Increase your marketing allocation - again as with above, increase in deliveries will help with cashflow which helps the industry stay afloat and pay bills. We're definitely not alone in this message we're sending and the reach and support on this post will hopefully get across to you that we need your assistance. The next few months for the whole country are looking grim and we need to band together as one and help each other out. And to our amazing customers, guests, friends and loyal consumers, PLEASE choose TAKE AWAY now if you are able to pick it up and don't want to dine in store. This will help us more than you know and prevent us losing more money <3 Sincerely, Milky Lane

12.01.2022 This is why real truffles are so expensive.

11.01.2022 As per the directive of the Australian government, we are now open to a delivery and takeaway service only, with no dine-in at our restaurant. It breaks our hearts to not offer a dine-in service as it's always nice to see regular faces and to welcome new ones. Our new hours of operations are:... Monday to Saturday 5PM to 10PM Sunday CLOSED You can call us on 8964 0022 to place a pick-up order from 5pm or as usual use our delivery partners UbetEats, Deliveroo, Menulog and DoorDash for food to be delivered to your door. We are ever grateful for your continuing support. We wish you all good health and hope that we'll see you again soon.
