25.01.2022 I've been out to Tasmanian Native Timbers for some new wood. I love the Myrtle and am looking forward to turning some of the hydrowood I bought. In the meantime, the spalted colours in the bowls are beautiful. The blank I chose for myself was so spalted it fell apart on the lathe and ended up being a nut bowl rather than a cereal bowl. The macrocarpa is noisy to turn and hard. The Blackwood is full of surprise. It tears and my gouge has to be super sharp but it stands up to a lovely finish. My neighbour posted some elm and more Blackwood in the letter box hahahaha. I guess he wants a salad bowl! #thingstodointasmania #cradlemoments #makersgonnamake #makersmovement #bestairbnbexperiences

25.01.2022 Rebecca and Scott planned their bowl making session weeks ahead and we super excited. Check out the picture of Scott waiting for his turn. He just can't wait to get in the chisel. #thingstodointasmania #woodturningbowls #cradlecoasttasmania #makersgonnamake #makersmovement #craft #tasmaniancraftfair

17.01.2022 More happy bowl lovers in Golden Valley and a little bit of fishing in the Meander River. Ain't life grand! @ Golden Valley, Tasmania, Australia

12.01.2022 What a week tof Bowl Love. The first picture here is of me and Fanny from SWITZERLAND. She's been cycling around for over three months and has visited us twice. We adore her and will stay in touch forever. The next couple are from Hervey Bay and stayed in their tent just 7 minutes up the road in a free camp on the Highland Lakes Road. They were such great company. The last pictures are of two scientists, Hazel and Jack, whom I assumed were forever lovers but they said they'd only just met. I thought it was such a great sign when Hazel started singing while she was mid bowl making. So uninhibited! Just lovely. #lovemylife #bestairbnbexperiences #cradlemoments #thingstodointasmania #activitiestasmania #woodturningbowls @ Deloraine, Tasmania

02.01.2022 Jen marvelled that she was able to learn enough to shape a bowl before lunchtime. She asked, Can we really make a bowl in a day? Yes! Working 1:1 or as a pair, you start with a high level of supervision but within an hour you work solo and have a good sense of what to do. #woodturningbowls #woodturning #thingstodointasmania #cradlemountaincountry #northwesttasmania #makesomething #makersgonnamake
