Diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma when he was nearly four years old, Aiden underwent several operations to treat and eventually remove a tumour. But now the 12-y...ear-old is loving life. Aiden is still in remission, and his favourite things to do are playing soccer and swimming. The 2CER Regiment is also flying high, celebrating its 10th birthday this month! 12.01.2022 Make-A-Wish LEGEND Louise Borg has brought smiles to the Make-A-Wish Wish Force after winning a $10,000 Westfield Local Heroes grant. But the award brought tears to Louise’s eyes. I cried when I got the call saying I had won, Louise said. I was ecstatic. All charities are struggling right now, but I know how much $10,000 means to Make-A-Wish right now. Make-A-Wish means so much to me; it’s such an important part of my life. I have been volunteering for 18 years. My kids ...have known nothing else, my oldest is 14, so he has been around Make-A-Wish all his life. My daughter is growing her hair for three years and is going to cut it off to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Louise said the grant would help deliver wishes for seriously-ill children. She said it would also offset the money her Western Sydney Branch was hoping to raise from the now-cancelled Kings Langley Christmas Carols. It actually broke my heart the carols had to be cancelled because of COVID, she said. I think Make-A-Wish is such an amazing beautiful charity. It just means so much; I find it quite hard to talk about how much it means to me because it makes me so emotional. See more

07.01.2022 It was all aboard for Dylans Wish! Eight-year-old Dylan is a train enthusiast, especially when it comes to diesel and freight trains, and more than anything he loves watching trains. For his wish, he wanted to see big trains, where they sleep and have an up-close experience. He is partially deaf, so a big part of why he loves trains so much is because he can feel the vibrations, so the closer, the better! Last September our friends at Southern Shorthaul Railroad in Bend...igo helped us bring Dylans wish to life. Dylan got to spend the day with the team and had a rail-y good time behind the scenes. He loved seeing how it all worked and riding upfront of the train with his sister tooting the horn. By the end of the day, he was pretty much a qualified train driver (in our eyes at least) Dylan still loves looking at pictures and videos from the day so our awesome volunteers made a photo book and DVD for Dylan so that he could keep reliving his special day again and again! 02.01.2022 2 yr old Eva loves toys and Emma Wiggle, but one of her favourite things in the whole world is...RUBBISH TRUCKS! Last week Eva got a Wish hamper delivered full of lots of special toys picked just for her. Wish hampers are something we do to welcome under 3 yr olds to the Make-A-Wish family. Every hamper is unique, just like our kids & their wishes. Due to COVID restrictions, this hamper was delivered a bit differently to how we usually do them, but Eva still adored receiving all her hamper goodies. "I dont even know what to say! She absolutely LOST IT when she was unboxing her package. So many squeals! The truck is her favourite thing in the world. She has even been taking it to bed. We are so grateful" -Evas Mum.
