14.01.2022 THE BOOK OPENER Over the coming weeks we will be providing some simple home exercise videos to assist you with those common aches and pains that can develop as a result of sitting at a home office, or simply being less active than you perhaps normally are. This first exercise, The Book Opener is one of our favourites! Not only does it improve thoracic spine (and upper body), shoulder mobility, improve posture and spinal rotation, it also provides a great stretch for the low...er back. Step 1: Lie on your side with your knees and hips at about 45 degrees from straight. Step 2: Inhale, pulling your belly button to your spine and lengthen through the spine. Lift the upper arm up and over behind your back. Do not force it. Follow your hand with your eyes. Concentrate on keeping the pelvis and lower legs still. Step 3: Stay in that opened position for a further stretch. Breathe out as you bring the arm back around to its start position. Of course if pain is becoming a concern for you, appointments are available with Cameron in Chirnside Park & Mooroolbark. Bookings can be made online at www.med4everybody.com.au

10.01.2022 COVID 19 Safety At Medical For Everybody Chirnside Park, patient safety is a priority. During these difficult times, the process of seeing a GP has ch...anged. -Upon booking, each patient will be screened for any risk factors of COVID 19. -On arrival to the clinic, patients will be asked to wait in their car. -The GP will then call the patient and determine whether the patient needs a face to face appointment. This is to limit face to face contact with each other to help limit potential spread of COVID 19. There is more evidence that COVID 19 spreads not only via face to face contact, but also via contact with contaminated surfaces. Moving forward, the clinic will aim provide the majority of its care via phone consults, to help protect the community by limiting the face to face exposure. Some patients may still require a face to face consult, but this will up to the GPs discretion. Unfortunately COVID 19 can be transmitted before the patient has any symptoms, and this period can be up to 14 days. This is the reason for the self-isolation period required for overseas travellers. These processes are to protect our patients, our staff and our community from COVID 19. As an essential service, the medical clinic will be open through this difficult time to serve the community. Lets look after one another. "Please stay at home unless absolutely necessary." - Prime Minister Scott Morrison (24 March 2020) See more
