22.01.2022 Let’s talk finishes. This is where lots of you tune out but don’t. Not yet. The question I do often get when dropping off a pikler or learning tower is how to maintain the longevity of the product. This is so important for safety as well as sustainability. I like to say that wood is like our skin, it just needs to be moisturised every now and again and it will stay fresh! It just needs a drink. In terms of what to finish it in, think non- toxic, which is why I always turn to ...products that declare they are food safe and some even state ‘toy safe’ which is awesome. These are some of my favourites as well as my #anniesloanwax which is not in the photo as I left it at the shop. You can never be too careful, so go with a trusted brand, less is more, read the directions, super simple to apply. 12.01.2022 Christmas craft pack. For home or school use. Can stretch activity over several lessons if you wish. Box assembly could bring up enquiry questions such as ‘why are the cut outs 3mm thick? What is the best process for assembling this?’ This will encourage STEM based thinking. Decoration of the bauble, the raw timber can be painted or stained or items attached to it. You could sand the timber before hand and discuss the different coarseness or sandpaper- you could discuss the... properties of timber- you could then oil or seal the product if you wished. 12.01.2022 So after a few (!?!!?!?) technical issues our laser is finally a blaze! We will be releasing a range of educational resources as well as birth announcements, affirmation cards, wall decals etc in the next few weeks. 03.01.2022 Arch family! Ready to roll. We had so much interest in our previous wider arch, but the issue for many people was the fact it was so wide and hard to store. The new arch’s are 540 wide as opposed to 800 wide. The little one fits inside the big one for storage and also a ramp sits nicely between them. Just a suggestion... ...
