24.01.2022 When in Rome... I mean Coffin Bay.....

22.01.2022 Get on board this awesome package we have pulled together with Coonawarra Experiences and Bellwether.... as an awesome partnership we will all look after every part of your trip to the SE wine region!

21.01.2022 Stoked with my delivery from @printlocker I personally like the hoodie... have to wait a few months to wear it though! I reckon our branding thanks to @redpencildesigns actually could make a good clothing line... what do you think?... Would you buy it? What’s your favorite? We have updated our clothing to reduce micro plastics each time we wash. Like our linen in the campers these are all 100% cotton so each time we wash them we’re not adding to tiny bits of plastic entering the environment.

21.01.2022 Great time of year for some wildflowers!

21.01.2022 The rig that gets us around! Another track in Coffin Bay National Park.. Each corner is a different stunning view!

Book with us and we will organise it all for you! Just tell us when and what sort of wine you love and we'll get you sorted! More info here: https://www.maketrax.com.au/coonawarra-wine-experience-pac/ Get in touch with your enquiry or to book!

19.01.2022 This has to be what an ultimate camp looks like... right? This is camping at it's best.... How about this, sheltered and shady under the Mallee's and then walk over to your own private beach! This is Carcasse Rock Camp near the end of Port Lincoln National Park... in our opinion this is the pick of camps, only 3 camp sites at the end of a fairly rough 4wd track = secluded!!... This was a windy day too and notice how sheltered the camp is! The next day (another vid coming) was an absolute cracker, calm and perfect swimming for the grommets! Everytime we head to Port Lincoln, South Australia is like a new jaw dropping experience! Why even think about the exclusive overseas location when we have better here! #SeeSouthAustraliaFromHome #southaustralia #seesouthaustralia

18.01.2022 Trialling a couple of different dish cloths for our customers in our bid to reduce plastic waste.. We’ve ditched the sponge (plastic based) and giving these options a go to see how they go. The sponge is made from cellulose which is the same stuff that plants are made from.... The cloth is cellulose and cotton, giving it a bit more longevity and is therefore washable. Both will therefore breakdown leaving no waste residue, eg no plastic waste. Keen to hear people’s thoughts and feedback from customers. #waronwasteau #reduceplasticwaste #noplastic #ecostar #qualitytourism #gosouthgolocal

18.01.2022 Look at the colour of that sand and water...! I guess this is called Sensation Beach for a reason! Coffin Bay National Park

12.01.2022 Some more shots of the new beast.... pretty happy with it and we’re sure you guys will be!! More play time on it over the next 6 days in lockdown.

12.01.2022 All settled for the weekend at Saunders Gorge! Only 1.5 hours from home...

12.01.2022 What an awesome idea for a great day out on the land! We’ve been down to check this out and it’s well worth while! These guys are salt of the Earth, natural hosts and great chefs! What a combo! Lessismore farm is an on farm experience and local farm to plate tasting experience....... They may even let you stay on their very own secluded camp spot on their Fleurieu property! Just mention us to see if they can come up with a deal for you in one of our Hire Camper Trailers!

11.01.2022 Christmas Day Recycling Hack..... Merry Christmas folks! If you’re like me you may freak out a little at Christmas with the inundation of little single use plastic bits...... even though we try to avoid it as much as possible it is inevitable as the package masters seem to engineer all sorts of little bits to secure a new toy to a box.. Give a little gift to Mother Nature this Christmas.. collect all those little bits and pop them into an empty plastic container. A used milk container is perfect! Keep the container through the year and collect all those little bits of plastic such as tags and bread tags. Chuck it in with your recycling when it’s full! No more little bits of plastic going to landfill from your house!! Did you know that even if you put this little bits of plastic loose in the recycling bin they end up in landfill. The recycling facilities can not deal with these small bits as they fall through the machinery and end up heading to landfill.

11.01.2022 It’s a Toyota thing... Oh What a Feeling! #ohwhatafeeling #toyota #gosouthgolocal #seesouthaustralia #seesouthaustraliafromhome

11.01.2022 We enjoyed our stay last weekend at Eagle View 4WD Track and Campsite located just the other side of the range from Mount Pleasant near Adelaide. The camp was really well spaced and very natural. Set in a dry creek bed at the entrance to Saunders Gorge, it was actually not what we expected given the surrounding bald hill and granite outcrop. This was a great spot only a bit over an hour from Adelaide, which once we were setup on Friday night after school pickup really felt a... world away! A great spot for setting off the next morning for a trip around the property on their decent 4WD track.. more to come! 10.01.2022 Heard of DAMPER but not sure how to give it a crack? There's no excuse, it is super easy and a treat worth indulging in! It won't last long once you break it open and lather it with butter........ All you need is: 500g of SR flour 2 stubbies or cans of beer (one for you and one for the damper!) margarine or butter (for a wipe in the camp oven and to smear all over your hot damper) a camp oven and; a fire with some decent coals.... So here we go...... 1. add 500g of SR Flour to the camp oven 2. pour in half a can or stubby of beer 3. mix by cutting through with a butter knife, adding more beer until you achieve a consistency you can handle without it sticking to your hands 4. turn out the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes 5. give the camp oven a quick clean and wipe with butter 6. pop the dough into the camp oven and add the lid, we like to then sit it by the fire to warm and rest for at least 20min Cook...... 1. dig a shallow hole, about half the depth of the camp oven and slightly wider than the camp oven next to the fire and shovel in a base of coals 2. pop the camp oven onto the coals and then shovel a layer of coals to the lid of the oven 3. check in about 15-20 mins by dusting off the coals on the lid and inspecting the damper for colour and sound (you should start smelling the damper cooking. Your damper is done when it is golden and sounds hollow when tapping it). 4. If it's not yet cooked replace the lid, add more coals and check again in 10 mins It's DONE!! Don't wait too long to get stuck in.... a damper is best with a slathering of butter while it is steaming hot!! HOT TIPS! - you don't want to cook it too hot, so don't overdo the coals - tent pegs make great tools to lift the camp oven and remove the lid Now you've mastered the basic damper, why not get creative?? Here's a couple of our favorite variations: - add in a handful of saltanas and a couple of teaspoons of raw sugar, plus a sprinkle some raw sugar on top - this is known as a spotted dick...? (hmm not sure why, but hey it's a favorite in our camp!) - add a handful of chopped chocolate - make it savoury with some cheese or garlic, or add in some herbs for a cracker addition to your dinner Have you made a damper before? Share your pics and tips for what makes it awesome for you!
