25.01.2022 Whilst I’ve been away a few of the intrepid Blokes in the Kitchen took to the kitchen on their own. Recipes & instructional videos provided by me - results all them. Well done.

21.01.2022 Today was the final Blokes in the Kitchen for 2018. Today we made spicy turkey hand-pies, Asian style slaw, yoghurt & mango relish and Xmas morning muffins. We’ve cooked over 35 recipes this year and usually have a fun time. Thanks to SHNC for the support.

20.01.2022 First batch of apricot jam made for 2019. Made with homegrown fruit so happens really fast as it’s so fresh.

19.01.2022 Very simple dinner of marinated lamb cutlets and Greek salad. Nice to be back to normal eating after the Xmas excesses.

19.01.2022 Very delicious date & orange loaf a great afternoon tea on a very wet afternoon. This is a lovely BakeClub recipe that prepared in a food processor. Was so good I had to have a second piece!

11.01.2022 Cheesy leek and potato pie. Easy free form pie that is as good at room temperature as hot. Reheats very well. Some fresh thyme in the filling and also the pastry.

11.01.2022 Just a few brave Blokes in the Kitchen met today for our first meeting of 2019. Braves as it was so hot and humid. We made apricot slice, zesty salmon burgers and sweet potato wedges (no photo).

10.01.2022 Zucchini, banana & blueberry bread already in the oven. All ingredients from my pantry.

10.01.2022 Incident prone ginger Anzacs (well me really not the biscuits). Think I managed to save them. Bring on Xmas. BakeClub

09.01.2022 Biscuits baked straight from the freezer. Could not be simpler and faster. Oats, almond & sesame biscuits. A new favourite from the fabulous BakeClub Australia.

07.01.2022 This is why I teach home cooking. Michael Pollan is one of the people who inspired me to teach. Such a sensible man.

06.01.2022 Blokes in the Kitchen were back today. We made pickled red onion, Thai pork salad & blackberry & raspberry Bakewell cake. All delicious.

05.01.2022 One of the things I bake most often - toasted muesli or granola. It’s made with oats, nuts, seeds, coconut toasted in a mix of either melted butter or olive oil and honey. Add a little dried fruit when it’s cool. Breakfast for the next few weeks. A little goes a long way.

03.01.2022 The Blokes in the Kitchen made chopped green salad, chilli/garlic prawns & tomato with spaghetti & Norwegian apple pie today. All delicious and well cooked.

03.01.2022 It’s tomato passata day in our household. Annual event as it’s good fun and the end products delicious. Well worth the effort.

03.01.2022 Today I taught my last Blokes in the Kitchen. After 2+ years as a volunteer we’ve cooked over 80 recipes. Phew. Today we made a delicious Spanish chicken and salad and a BakeClub chocolate coconut cake. It’s been fun, hard work and a great learning opportunity.

01.01.2022 Homemade shredded beef tacos with delicious pico de gallo and pickled onions. Fabulous Friday night dinner.

01.01.2022 Turkey meatball & pineapple curry, not terribly photogenic but very delicious. Not at all sweet. Yum. Recipe testing.
