20.01.2022 Why does Making Rainbows not offer casual classes? What are the benefits of enrolling my child for the full term? At Making Rainbows we focus on developing similar skills throughout the term, but change the resources and music to keep it fresh! Research shows that children benefit from repetition, getting better at a skill when practiced over and over again. When a child comes each week they are becoming familiar with our songs and class structure, which supports them to fe...el safe and secure in the environment which greatly benefits learning. For parents, coming along for a term can really enhance the friendships that form during our classes. Making Rainbows really does become like a little music making family! However, we do understand that life happens and classes will be missed so we offer two make up classes to enrolled clients per term.

16.01.2022 Making Rainbows uses well known nursery rhymes/songs to benefit children’s learning. Since the nursery rhymes we use in our program are well known they are able to be shared across generations as a fun experience. It’s why our families love joining in the singing and dancing just as much as the children! The rhyme and rhythm in nursery rhymes help children learn the sounds and syllables in words which supports them to read when they go to school. ... #IncyWincySpider #MakingRainbows #NurseryRhymes

12.01.2022 My little friend did so well in his individual class today! He did the whole class without any parent in the room with him! We focused on following directions and sharing during engaging in several fun activities. #IndividualClass #NDIS
12.01.2022 Music is the best therapy! At a young age I (Miss Tish) was diagnosed with verbal dispraxia. This condition resulted in me not being able to control my mouth/tongue muscles to produce speech, sounds and words. Therefore, I had difficulty communicating my needs. My parents found that singing lessons were extremely beneficial in supporting me to speak fluently and clearly. Singing allows for children’s lips, tongue, soft palate and larynx to be improved and strengthened in o...rder for speech production. Breath control is also necessary for singing and therefore singing is fantastic for those with speech delay. At Making Rainbows you will often hear Miss Tish singing along to the songs which encourages children and parents to join in! As you all now know Miss Tish is fantastic at talking! Who can find Miss Tish in the photo below? #Additionalneeds #SpeechDelay #NDIS #Singing #MakingRainbows
09.01.2022 Children are capable of so much more than you can imagine! They may be small but they are very clever! Making Rainbows classes are structured with routine to support children in school readiness. At childcare or school children are required to sit, wait and listen to the next instruction, therefore we encourage the same during our classes. This is achievable for every child when a persistent routine is maintained. A child learns best when they are actively ready for the expe...rience. We encourage our toddler children to pack away the activity they were engaged in before providing them with another. If a child is surrounded by many experiences at once they are often over whelmed and shall choose to engage in the well known activity instead of practicing the skill of the other. Our classes are extremely fun, however are not just a play group but an educational class.
09.01.2022 Making Rainbows now operates as an unregistered NDIS service provider offering individual classes for children 0-7 Yrs. If you plan/self manage your child’s NDI...S funding you are eligible to enrol. As an early childhood special needs teacher, Miss Bernie is passionate about providing a play based program designed to meet each child’s individual goals. For further information [email protected]
09.01.2022 Thursday Babies!
08.01.2022 Children need to develop a strong sense of beat to develop healthy neural networks for future learning. Miss Tish being a trained musician is able to help parents to correctly create the feel of the beat for a child to hear. When beat is incorrectly taught this foundational skill does not develop. Keeping a steady beat supports children with their gross and fine motor skills, early maths ability, early language and literacy skills and even social skills. Within our childcare ...centre classes we extend the children's musical learning further by teaching rhythm, pitch and melody. Making Rainbows is not focused on making every child a musician, but teaches musical concepts for children's development. #MakingRainbows #EarlyDevelopment #Music
07.01.2022 Did you know crawling helps to develop the muscles in the head, neck, arms, back and legs? It also encourages crossing the midline! The midline is the invisible line that divides the left and right side of our body. It’s important to encourage the left side of our brain to work with the right side! #childdevelopment #musicmovementandsensoryplay
