22.01.2022 Always with a smile and a chat, Rachael (superstar swimmer) loves it when her workouts incorporate loading and some upper limb strength work - this helps her both in and out of the pool!

18.01.2022 One in five Australians aged 18-85 experience mental illnes and currently suicide is the leading cause of death in this age group. According to the Black Dog Institute males have been found the least likely to seek help, so our boys are here to remind everyone that today is a RUOK? day - a nice reminder to genuinely ask those around youare you OK?. It could start a conversation which may change someones life. Our staff are always here to listen, chat or just simply make you laugh however if you are looking for more resources please check out @ruokday

18.01.2022 It's so special to see hard work pay off! This is the view our trainers get to witness first hand! To assist Seth in achieving a fluid and stable walking pattern he is wearing a PDE and an XFT supplied by @neuromuscular_o, which are both types of orthosis. While they look different and function in different ways, they both aim to achieve similar things. The PDE (on Seth’s Left side) supports his leg to move in its optimal position for walking and also provides stability for ...standing. The XFT (on Seth’s Right side) is a type of FES (functional electrical stimulation) device. The XFT sends an electrical signal to the Peroneal and Tibialis Anterior Nerves which activate the muscles responsible for clearing the foot off the ground for swing phase. Both devices enhance the ability to exercise, due to their fatigue reducing effects. Meaning Seth can reserve some energy for the rest of his 2-hour Making Strides Session!! See more

14.01.2022 Have you heard about our TrailRiders? A TrailRider is an all-terrain wheelchair that can manage areas and tracks that are normally inaccessible to mobility impa...ired visitors. They are available at Cradle Mountain, Freycinet and Mount Field national parks and are free of charge to use. Bookings need to be made 7 days in advance via the relevant visitor centre. You will need to bring a minimum of two reasonably fit helpers for the shorter easier tracks. For the more challenging tracks PWS staff will be able to give you some more information about how many helpers you will need as it will vary from track to track. You will also need to bring a helmet. Local staff can provide advice on the best routes and talk you though how to use of the TrailRider. To make a booking contact us by email Cradle Mountain [email protected] Mount Field [email protected] Freycinet [email protected]
