18.01.2022 Completed in 2015, Our prefabricated Three Capes Track and Cabins project has won the 2018 Property Council Innovation & Excellence Award for Tasmanian Development of the Year! This was a joint submission between JAWS Architects, Vos Construction & Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania. JAWSArchitects worked closely with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service to develop these simple, elegant shelters that sit effortlessly in the dramatic landscape of the Tasman Peninsula. ... Drawing on our experience with prefabrication and transportable structures, we created the huts using repeated and preassembled components that were flown in by helicopter and assembled, flat-pack style, on site by a small team of craftsmen. Our Nomad Pods were launched through an initiative by Parks Victoria as temporary accommodation structures that straddle unique places for the time it takes to know a place. Then, as lightly as it comes it departs, leaving behind only an enriched memory. As demonstrated in the visuals, the pods have been designed with a number of layout options to accommodate a variety of applications.... Let us know what you think! Destination Southern Tasmania's annual Summit was held at Blundstone Arena earlier this week, providing an opportunity for tourism industry professionals to share business ideas, experiences and best practice strategies. This year JAWS' Director, Scott Verdouw joined a panel of luminaries and shared his own stories of business evolution, triumphs & challenges. He joined Andrew Smith, Heath Garratt, Madi Seeber-Peattie & Michele Bain in a very entertaining and informative session to finish the annual summit.
