22.01.2022 Brass inlay is in! The contrasting timber in the centre is from the client’s family farm as an ode to the land. Looking forward to showing you the final piece, this one was special.

21.01.2022 Co-designing with clients is such satisfying work. This large format display stand can be adjusted for various heights and neatly stored underneath in the bookshelf, another addition to the Library at Princes Hill Secondary College.

20.01.2022 I should have posted this earlier but here it is, the finished treehouse. Complete with swing, pulley system and 3m off the ground. This was such a fun project, the hardest part was definitely the subfloor, making sure it was structurally sound and level with the organic shape of the tree.

20.01.2022 Such a joy to see a client’s face when they see their piece in the flesh. Thanks @stinabel for the commission, it’s been a real pleasure.

19.01.2022 Bookshelves ready for a home in Box Hill. Fortunately I'm still able to source timber during these uncertain times. If you'd like something custom made for your home, please get in touch. Stay safe and sane everyone.

18.01.2022 The timber I’ve used for this latest dining table commission is Tasmanian Blackwood. This particular timber has been resting at the bottom of Lake Pieman in Tasmania for the last 25 years, a truly unique product thanks to @hydrowood.

12.01.2022 Details of a drop leaf table for a creative arts therapist. The brief was to include storage and be able to be folded down when not in use.

11.01.2022 1 of 2 wheelchair friendly bars for Northcote Town Hall getting ready for some oil. Loving working with curves and brass, reminds me of making skateboard ramps as a kid!

09.01.2022 This piece was installed yesterday and features solid brass detailing to compliment the existing space. Thanks Sarah Ricardo and Terry it was a pleasure!

08.01.2022 1.8m diameter meeting table for Decibels Music Studio. This completes the studio with desks I made for them this time last year. The table can be split in two to use in other rooms and secured with wing nuts for easy disassembly. Always a pleasure working with Darebin City Council.

05.01.2022 Something special in the works for a 50th wedding anniversary. Since it’s their Golden Jubilee, I thought the use of brass would be fitting, it’s not gold but it’s solid, like their relationship. What do you think?

05.01.2022 Wow, I've just reached 5 years of making furniture, that went fast! Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the last few years! Thank you all for your support and Happy Holidays! www.makotolane.com.au

01.01.2022 My favourite piece to date. A little reluctant to see this leave the workshop, I would quite happily have it for our dining table.
