01.01.2022 Hey Guys! Mission Australia is currently running the English Numeracy and Literacy programme for Mission Australia - concerns the tutoring of foreign nationals that come here for either work or school. #click see more for details. its really worth it. we promise.... The programme runs all through the weekdays from 0900hrs-1430hrs. Of which, it is broken up into 3 time slots: 1. 0900-1030 2.1030-1230 3.1300-1430 Most of you will be busy during the weekdays but it would be great if some of you could drop by for either one of the sessions to build a rapport with the 'students' and act as assistance to the tutors. This brings to the most important reason underlying this request- he is wanting to start a mentoring session over the weekends where any of you willing volunteers can spare some time either to meet the students at a time and place that is convenient for both of you or simply be over the phone to assist the student with any problems he or she may face (form filing). Essentially what they want is for you to be available for contact by the students should they need you. Of course each of you will be assigned a particular group and you would be the sole mentor. The perks of being involved as a volunteer with Mission Australia include (but not limited to): 1. Recognition by Mission Australia on your Circum Vitae (confirmed) 2. Referrals by Mission Australia vouching your leadership capabilities when you apply for a job (confirmed) 3. For those of you that have a larger interest can find full time employment with Mission Australia upon graduation (confirmed if individual is from a recognised field of stud i.e. education, social work) 4. Placements and internships with Mission Australia during term breaks (possibility) This concern both Launceston and Hobart students .Any of you interested, contact: Name: Muhammad Djuanda Email: [email protected] Phone number: 0407730771 with your name and contact number, latest by Thursday the 9th of August 2012, 1700hrs! Spread the word on to your friends/significant others. Do remember that it is not a requirement to be Malaysian but you will be representing the interest of MASCA Charity Tasmania.
