20.01.2022 Helping to keep our Easter Spirit alive in Maldon over Easter, the Easter Fair Committee in conjunction with the Maldon Historic Bakery will be giving free, 2 Hot Cross Buns to every local Customer at the Bakery on Good Friday. This has come about by the committee deciding to keep their usual order of 25 dozen hot cross buns that we usually have after the Beehive Chimney Service and this also helps support local business. Keeping all the fun of the fair alive this Easter in Maldon

20.01.2022 The Maldon Lions Club Op Shop will be reopening this Saturday with a limit of only 4 people in the shop at once. Our volunteers are all very keen to see you all again.

18.01.2022 Here's a great idea from Maldon's Richard (Skreitch) to celebrate Easter in Maldon: "How about everyone, who can see Mt Tarrangower from their home, steps outsi...de their front door and gives a big cheer when they switch the lights on the tower, on Thursday 9 April at 7.30pm. Rob and Chris Gibb of Maldon also think it's a great idea. They added: "Additionally, why don’t all of us residents put our front and back lights on also when it is lit up to show our sign of strength, solidarity and unity in Maldon." The TT would love you to share this post! See more

18.01.2022 Raffle Draw, 1st Denti , 2nd Kelly, 3rd Yvonne. Thank you all for the great support of our wonderful Maldon Easter Fair.

17.01.2022 The tradition continues We have just heard the lights on the Mt Tarrangower Lookout Tower will be switched on at 6.30pm tonight, not 7.30pm. The earlier time th...is year is because of daylight saving. Just a reminder about a great idea from Maldon's Richard (Skreitch) to celebrate Easter in Maldon: "How about everyone, who can see Mt Tarrangower from their home, steps outside their front door and gives a big cheer when they switch the lights on the tower. Rob and Chris Gibb of Maldon also think it's a great idea. They added: "Additionally, why don’t all of us residents put our front and back lights on also when it is lit up to show our sign of strength, solidarity and unity in Maldon." See more

15.01.2022 From the very early Easter Fairs it was decided that it was a must to light our tower as a beacon to all residents and those who had moved away to guide them all safely back to Maldon to rekindle old friendships and meet up with family and to enjoy all the fun of the fair. the first few years i am told the lamps were beer bottles on a rope strung from each corner of the tower and filled with Kerosene. Once power was available on top of the tower electric globes were used and ...we still do this each year. for many of these years the work to do this was done by the late Bill Telford, a past President and life member of the Easter Committee often assisted by his family. this tradition has been a Telford tradition too. now with his son Chris leading the way for quite a few years now in making this happen each Easter for all of us to enjoy. We thank Chris and his family for keeping this tradition going and again this year the Tower will be lit from Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday night as a welcome home and a sign of the community spirit we are proud of in Maldon. also i was told many years ago that on the top of the tower is Easter Bunny's House an when the lights are on he is preparing all of the Eggs. The Easter Fair Committee thank Chris and the Telford family for what they do to light up our tower and our Main Street. Note; this year only the tower will be lit , not the street. See more

02.01.2022 Wow, What a great Easter Fair in Maldon. The Maldon Easter Fair Committee wish to thank all of you who have helped make our Easter events so wonderful, even with the shortened program and the shortened period of time we had to get organised due to the ever changing COVID event rulings and dealing with local shire parmits. Our small committee of Volunteers, made it all happen. To you, our community we thank you for coming out with your smiles, goodwill, support and encouragement. Hopefully next year we will be able to enjoy a much larger program of events with some of the old favourites like the Torchlight Parade, The Billie Carts and the Egg Toss able to be held. Well done Maldon for all the fun of the fair.
