24.01.2022 The 46th Maldon Folk Festival - Sunday 3/11/19

24.01.2022 Festival 2020?? To date we have not cancelled our festival and are watching the lifting of restrictions with bated breath, crossing fingers that we do not have a spike in community transmitted infections after the protest rallies and latest lifting of restrictions. I've spoken to our local MP and we may have a better idea of the situation mid July so we are waiting until then to make a final decision as to whether the festival goes ahead this year. If it goes ahead there wil...l be lots of hand sanitizer, and COVID safe practices etc. If the decision is made to go ahead, early bird tickets will go on sale sometime in August and we'll be asking for volunteer applications at that time too. 22.01.2022 Greetings to you all, I hope you are well. I feel for those of you who are now again under stay home restrictions. Hopefully it won’t last past the next six weeks. Unfortunately, the decision has been made to cancel the Maldon Folk Festival for 2020. With the increased number of active COVID 19 cases in Victoria, high community transmission, Melbourne back in lock down and all the state borders closed to Victorians, the situation is unlikely to improve in time to put the fest...ival together, make it financially viable and COVID safe. The most important consideration in this decision was the safety and health of our performers, volunteers, billeters, contractors and the local Maldon residents. All performer applications submitted for this year will be carried over to 2021 and new applications will be welcome 1st Feb 31st Mar 2021.

16.01.2022 Claymore at the Maldon Folk Festival 2019. What an incredible band which has a mixture of traditional Scottish and Irish music and modern Celtic rock. The energ...y of the band can be felt from the moment they hit the stage to hours after they finish. Certainly this was one of the many highlights that stood out for me at this amazing festival. 14.01.2022 What a wonderful weekend, but no so for those who lost something!!! With me I have keys which were handed into the festival office, and a dodgy looking charger from the green room behind the community centre stage. Please message me if you recognise them. We also have a guitar lead handed in - no pic as it looks like a guitar lead! If I find anything else I'll post it here.
