17.01.2022 Queensland Rugby Union statement regarding community Rugby and COVID-19 Following the announcement by Rugby Australia this afternoon relating to COVID-19 and community rugby across Australia, Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) will suspend all affiliated and sanctioned community Rugby competitions - including training - until Saturday, 2 May 2020. The sanctioning of competitions is one of the QRU’s key responsibilities, along with full compliance with our public health responsibili...ties around grass-roots Rugby. During this time, the QRU is encouraging clubs and other affiliated bodies to follow public health information and procedures regarding containment of the spread of COVID-19, from the World Health Organisation, Australian Federal Government, Rugby Australia and Queensland Health. There are immediate logistical issues for clubs affiliated to the QRU, meaning clubs would often exceed the mandatory Federal Government mass-gathering policy. The recommended suspension would leave a window from Saturday 2 May through to Saturday 12 September 2020, preserved for local club competitions to be played, if circumstances allow. Schools Rugby governance will continue to sit with the relevant principal and associated administrations. QRU CEO David Hanham said: This public health emergency we’re working through is unprecedented and today’s announcement on community Rugby takes into account all the relevant information provided by public health bodies, government and Rugby Australia. We’re putting in place policies and procedures that don’t place players, volunteers, staff and other stakeholders at unnecessary risk. This moratorium on community Rugby also allows the QRU time to plan at the community level and implement new participation/competition structures that would allow Queenslanders to participate in Rugby within the designated window, should circumstances allow. We will continue work with our clubs and affiliate bodies on measures to assist them during this challenging period, we’re mindful that this global heath-crisis is bigger than sport and the health and welfare of the communities of Queensland remain our priority. 16.01.2022 The year that was, when Covid-19 hit, it pretty much wiped out the Bushrangers. But with keen dedication from some under 10 boys we are able to combine with Nambour Toads (this was the Toads first season back into the comp in 10 years) 7 Maleny boys and 8 Nambour (soccer playing) kids joined forces to learn, grow and develop together. Coach Luke has been amazing, patient and very proud of all the kids. We call ourselves the BushToads, with 50/50 jerseys only loosing 3 games out of 12 all season. Great effort guys, the rugby stays alive in you. A huge thanks to APEX Maleny for sponsoring us, and Sunshine Mitre 10.
16.01.2022 Fancy a 3 day coaching clinic over the school holidays?

14.01.2022 Great things come from a BUSHRANGER. Congratulations to DYLAN LINNANE Although this year Maleny Junior Bushrangers are taking a break, we would like to recognise a former junior who started playing at the age of 5 for the Bushrangers. Dylan is completing yr. 12 this year and is also an avid referee for SCJRU and QRRA. He has now been selected as one of the 10 Queenslanders who were named as part of the 2021 School Student Scholarship, (SSS) program recognising the work of promising school-aged match officials) Congratulations Dylan and all the best from the Maleny Bushrangers
12.01.2022 Under the Federal Government's bold new plan to keep junior sport safe, grandparents are now banned from attending games. The new guidelines mean parents will have to watch from inside their cars, when clubs return to the field in three weeks time. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS
