19.01.2022 UPDATED: Important Message for Maleny Residents: Many of you will have heard the news that a woman from Maleny has tested positive to the UK COVID strain. The ...woman tested positive in hotel quarantine in Melbourne on 27 December, continued isolation and cleared all her symptoms before flying on to Brisbane and Maleny on 5 January. She has subsequently tested positive again. I have been reassured the risk to the broader community is extremely low and there is no additional cause for alarm. But, as has been the case for the better part of the last twelve months, please get tested if you have any symptoms. Testing will be available at the Maleny Hospital from 2-5pm this afternoon (Saturday) with further details available at https://www.qld.gov.au//stay-inf/testing-and-fever-clinics later today. I’ll endeavour to keep you posted. As a community we survived the challenges of last year with a really positive and supportive attitude and without unnecessary hysteria...let’s keep that approach over the coming days.
