18.01.2022 Email Newsletter from Bunya House: The Maleny Credit Union has been successfully operating as a community based credit union since 1984. It has approximately 4000 members and assets of about $45 million. The Maleny Credit Union is about to launch its five-year strategic plan, with an emphasis on re-establishing itself as both a thought leader and a practice leader in ethical and sustainable banking; that is, banking where social justice, environmental responsibility and local... community and individual empowerment have an equal platform to sound business and compliance practices. As part of this plan, the Maleny Credit Union will progressively expand parts of its business that are currently operating on a smaller scale, such as its activities as a facilitator or broker of financial services and the role of the Charitable Trust. The Board of seven directors is looking to make two skills-based appointments to the board to assist with the implementation of this exciting and challenging plan.
