10.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE - PLAY READING will now be on FRIDAY 24TH JULY (Tomorrow) at the Playhouse Maleny Showgrounds On Friday 24 July from 9.30am sharp 12 noon in the Playhouse at the Showgrounds, the Friday morning Playreading Group will be exploring the text of Emerald City by David Williamson, which a Maleny Playbus group saw performed in Brisbane at QPAC in February this year. First produced in the Sydney Opera House in 1987, Williamson’s play captures the dilemma of the time: a...rtistic expression v big bucks - which to the central character, fading screenwriter Colin, seems to epitomise the ‘emerald glitz’ of Sydney as opposed to Melbourne. The application to the screenwriting melting-pot of the 2000s is tangible, ironically even more so at present! The original team of actors included Ruth Cracknell, Robyn Nevin, John Bell and Max Cullen. Numbers are restricted by social distancing. Please RSVP by email to [email protected] See more

The Maleny Players will be back with performances as soon as we are allowed. We will let everyone know what and when this will happen. In the meantime we are enjoying play readings via Zoom.

03.01.2022 The Maleny IGA CBC funding donation came just in time as we need to replace our sound board (Barry and Rob showing off our new board). Many thanks to Rob at the Maleny IGA.
