29.01.2022 Each day this week we will introduce our student school leaders for 2022. You will learn a little bit more about who they are, and what they hope to achieve. Our school leaders this year are motivated and ready to get started!

25.01.2022 Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and relaxing holiday. See you all on Tuesday, 6 October.

25.01.2022 At Maleny State High School we try to support ALL of our students as they find their way in the world. Today, we recognise our LGBTQIA+ young people, and challenge everyone to help shape a better world for us all to live in. Wear It Purple Day is celebrated annually in August to help raise awareness and empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer and questioning (LGBTIQ+) young people. It was established in Australia in 2010 to show solidarity for social equalit...y and for preventing bullying and harassment experienced by LGBTIQ+ youth. This years Wear it Purple theme is We are the change. For more information and ideas about how to Wear It Purple visit: www.wearitpurple.org/wear-it-purple-day-2020 Or Minus 18 website www.minus18.org.au/campaigns/wear-it-purple-day.

18.01.2022 ***YEAR 10 STUDENTS*** Thank you for those who have completed the Humanities survey so far. The survey closes this Wednesday (2nd February, 3pm). Completing the survey maximises your chances of being placed in the Humanities subjects/topics that YOU want to do this year. If you don't complete the survey, you won't have a choice about what humanities subjects you complete this year. Complete the survey to avoid disappointment! Check your inbox for the email from Mrs. Masson.

18.01.2022 Dont forget that tomorrow (Friday, 4 September) is a Pupil Free Day. Only a few Year 10 students will be popping in to complete their SET plan interviews.

12.01.2022 Legal Studies is the first exam tomorrow, so Mr Kranz wants his students to begin their final revision with the knowledge that the law can sometimes be tricky (but it’s always heaps of fun).

07.01.2022 This year, like every year but particularly so, every school has relied heavily on their amazing chaplains. So it was great to join Cr Winston Johnston and many... others from the broader Maleny community to support and thank Micah - chaplain at Maleny State High School! Huge thanks also to Heather and her team at The Orangery and the senior hospitality students for a delicious breakfast. See more

02.01.2022 If our Year 12s are still procrastinating about their Music exam tomorrow afternoon, we wish them the same level of creative energy (under a tight deadline) as Mozart.

01.01.2022 You are in charge of how people are treated in your school, your workplace and your home. When people are mean, hurtful or harmful, remind yourself that being a bystander is helping the problem to grow. Harm grows in silence, so it is important to find a way to #saysomething.

01.01.2022 Last night the Hinterland Battle of the Bands official judging took place with four celebrity judges. Three schools were competing in this event (each with three bands). All of the performers were great, but the Maleny High bands took out first and second place. Congratulations to Denim (Year 9 band) who took first place (by just one point) over Criminal Mint (Year 11 band). The Void (Year 10 band) were Dicko's favourite group and would have placed third (if there was such an award). Congratulations to all of these remarkably talented musicians and a huge Thank You to their support teams.

01.01.2022 New DSN antenna, who dis? #science #voyager2

01.01.2022 Criminal Mint has entered the Triple J Unearthed High 2020. You can listen to their original track using the link below. Be sure to show your support and leave a review. https://www.triplejunearthed.com/artist/criminal-mint

22.12.2021 Da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’ is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful, and enigmatic, pieces of art from the Italian Renaissance. Very few get to see behind the painting though. Today, our Year 11 and 12 students begin their ‘at home’ learning. This might be tricky for some as a routine is established and glitches are overcome. It may take a little while to get back into the swing of things. Remember: You don’t have to be perfect. If you’re having trouble and things are less than beautiful behind the scenes, then reach out to your teachers and House Leaders. We’ll always try to help and we’re here to support you.

19.12.2021 From tomorrow, we begin online/remote learning for our Senior (Year 11/12 students) and will continue to provide supervision (no curriculum delivery) for our Year 7-10 students who are unable to remain at home. Earlier today the Queensland Department of Education released further details of their ‘back to school’ plan which comes into effect from Monday, 7 February. Our school leaders will unpack this plan and keep parents updated (via email). Once again, we thank our entire school family for their support and patience. It’s a challenging time for everyone.

30.11.2021 Has your child finished Year 12 but it doesn't feel like the world is opening up for them? Maybe their plans changed? If life after high school hasn't ended up ...the way you thought it would for them, that's okay - but it's important to help your child find ways to keep moving forward. 16.11.2021 ****YEAR 10 STUDENTS**** An important email has just dropped into your school email inbox regarding your Humanities subjects for this year. You must read it and complete the survey. There is a cut off date so don't delay!

04.11.2021 Timetables have just been emailed to all Year 8-12 students (via your @eq address). Note: these are still being finalised and changes are likely.

31.10.2021 New families are reminded that the area along the front of the Admin. Block to the Activities Centre and Waroo building is a designated school bus zone before and after school. Around 80% of our students catch buses to school. Whilst we’re fans of ‘Old Skool’ games, please don’t play Frogger with the lives of our children. There is a small two-minute pick-up/drop-off area out the front of the Admin. carpark. Let’s all do the right thing and keep our kids safe.

21.10.2021 The next few weeks will be challenging - for ourselves, our families, our communities, and for the young people in our lives. Please don’t under-estimate the importance of our role, as adults, to the children around us. We all have a part to play.

07.10.2021 If you know of any families who are new to Maleny High this year, please encourage them to follow this page for updates and information.
