22.01.2022 There will be no Tunes Class this week, 3rd July, but we will resume as normal on 10th July.

21.01.2022 There will be no Tunes Class today, 20th November, but we expect to be as normal next week.

17.01.2022 Hooray! It's nearly Maleny Music Festival time again. You'll find us there as "The Bunya Irish Ceili Band", playing in the Obi Obi at 10.15am on Sunday 1st September. There will probably be dancing so drop in and kick your feet up. Steve and Robyn will be hosting a slow tunes session at 11.30am on Saturday 31st August in the Session Tent so bring your session instrument along and learn a tune or two, or simply sit back and see how it's done.

15.01.2022 There will be no Tunes Class on Wednesday 4th December as Steve and Robyn will be absent. Classes for 11th and 18th will be for ceili sets practice preparing for Woodford Folk Festival. Come along to the Dance Hall at the festival on 29th December at 7.30pm and 30th December at 8.45pm and kick your heels up!

13.01.2022 There will be no tunes class on 3rd October as several members have other activities that night. Also there will be no class on 24th October. We will begin work on sets for Woodford on 7th November.

13.01.2022 We're back in action, starting this Wednesday, 6th February. We hope everybody had a good break with plenty of music at whatever festivals, camps and sessions you attended. Now let's get stuck into some more tunes.

11.01.2022 What an excellent weekend Maleny Music Festival was. A huge thank you to Noel Gardner and his team and all the volunteers. We had a great time sharing some of our tunes, and having Nicole Murray teaching some enthusiastic dancers made it better still. This is dance music after all! Thank you Nicole for also taking these photos.

11.01.2022 The second tune taught this week was the jig - The High Part of the Road. Check out Tommy Peoples playing it. https://youtu.be/GRVt_E_KaqE

10.01.2022 We are hoping to be able to keep the weekly classes running during the current virus event. Obviously it will be up to individuals to self isolate if they are unwell or have other health issues. While at the class we will practice good hygiene and do without the supper break, finishing earlier at 8.30pm instead. It seems that the situation is changing daily so if it is not practical to keep the class going Robyn and Steve will explore other methods such as Skype/Messenger tu...ne sharing. To be viable we need at least five attendees at a class so if you are an existing member please let Robyn and Steve know if you won't be attending, giving as much notice as possible. If you haven't attended before and wish to come along please let us know. In case lack of numbers or changed circumstances mean the class has to be cancelled at short notice we suggest that you check your messages/emails before leaving home.

09.01.2022 The regular Wednesday Tunes Class will resume on 5th February.

06.01.2022 After further consideration it has been decided to close the Tunes Class until further notice. In the meantime we have plenty of tunes to practice. As soon as we are able to resume our Wednesday gatherings those on the mailing list will be notified by email and a post will be made here. Until then, take care and stay healthy.

05.01.2022 Well that's it, the last tunes class for the year. It's been another productive one with, by my count, 49 tunes taught, most of them new to us but some revisions of fading memories from past classes. It's usual for several members to be away during January so classes will resume in early February, date to be announced. In the meantime come and dance to our music at Woodford Folk Festival. We will be playing as The Bunya Irish Ceili Band at 9.15pm on Sunday 30th December and again at 7.30pm on Monday 31st. Dances will be taught and called by Irish dance expert Davydd MacDonald.
