25.01.2022 A big thank you to Riviera Barns and Garages and Fairdinkum Sheds and Stramit Building Products for the generous donation and delivery of new club rooms for the Mallacoota Pony Club today! Also thank you to Dustin Taylor for travelling fortnightly to private riding lessons to local riders under COVID restrictions - there is nothing like improving your skills and safety with good coaching. Well done to the littlies and their families for making the effort to progress their ...riding skills. It was great to see new pony club members joining in. Most of all it was fun day. (for some ...the riding lessons were possibly more enjoyable than the pot-hole filling job) The Pony Club had its AGM recently. We wish all the best to the new committee for taking on the mammoth task of helping to rebuild the club grounds, despite the recent set backs. Stephanie Mew - President Carla De La Rue - Secretary Jenny Ginnivan - Treasurer Steph has been working tirelessly for the past 3 months with the assistance of the PCAV Pony Club Victoria executive to ensure that the club is safe for all members, is compliant with incorporation rules and ready to hand over in good shape to the new committee, as well as completing grant applications and leading the planning for the rebuild of the grounds Finally, a big thanks to DEWLP and Ryan for removing dangerous trees and getting the grounds ready for re-fencing. Hopefully, the club kids are looking forward to our first COVID rally - which will be an Open Rally (anyone can join in). Im looking forward to the return of the traditional, much loved camp outs and a chance to invite other clubs to enjoy our new facilities. But there is ALOT of work to be done first. Sara Renwick-lau (DC)

25.01.2022 A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came, bought, donated, ate, watched and played at our Country Fair yesterday, The Weather Gods took pity on us and didnt release the threatened deluge until nearly the end (yes, we still have packing up to do!) BUT, thanks to some very generous donations and bloody hard work, we are now 1/3 closer to our goal of a new club house....oh, and we launched our Christmas Raffle too! Watch this space!

23.01.2022 The Mallacoota Pony Club would like to thank the Mallacoota Community and beyond for its concern after the recent fire emergency. We would like to reassure the community that our horses and our members are safe and well cared for. The reality of the devastation of our grounds and equipment is sinking in. We have lost everything - our clubroom, office, boundary fences, round yard, jumping and games equipment and arenas, ride on mower and all maintenance tools, bbq amongst 40 y...ears of photos, manuals and history. If you wish to help, the best way is to donate money through Ponyclub Victoria GofundMe account. Currently our grounds are out of bounds due to the presence of asbestos and the huge number of dangerous trees on the grounds. We do not need donations of horse related equipment like saddles, rugs, horse medications/bandages and bridles. We are concentrating our efforts on raising funds to make the grounds safe and rebuilding the club. If you think you can help, please go to www.mallacootarecovers.org and check out our wish list. We know people have good intentions towards Mallacoota Pony Club and we want to make this work in the best possible way for everyone. We can do this!

20.01.2022 The bad weather couldn't stop our eager younger Pony Club members from getting to the grounds for lessons and games with Dustin. Although the older riders were contemplating staying dry at home - the kids still rode to the grounds in the pouring rain and we got everyone trotting around to warm themselves up and dry off. The rain cleared up, the older riders got going and it turned into a really fun day, with games and jumping a highlight. The E and C certificate riders learnt about "the aids" and how using "Please, Do it and Thank You" can lead to a more responsive horse. All the riders and their ponies tried hard and did really well, with quite a few "firsts" for many of our riders. We are all looking forward to getting the planning for our clubroom shed through soon, so we might have some shelter when we need it!

20.01.2022 GOOD LUCK to all of members going to InterSchools in Jindabyne this weekend...and please, DONT break a leg!!!

17.01.2022 A very happy birthday to our member, Teagan Bruce! Shall we celebrate at the meeting tonight?

16.01.2022 Our club rooms are a little smaller for the time being, but we managed to pull off a great rally. Thank you to our instructor Dustin for being so reliable and giving nearly all of our riders a chance to get our horses out of the paddock and us back in the saddle. The riding areas are actually pretty nice after our rain and grass growth!!! We couldnt have made it to our first rally for the year without the huge efforts of Doug Bolye, Brodie Palmer and Kevin Lott who helped to... get the grounds safe to use in such a short time frame The replacement bush poles are awesome (like old days!) and we really appreciate it. A mention to everyone else who helped out at our impromptu working bee last Monday and of course all the other clubs and individuals who have so far supported us directly or indirectly to help us get back to riding again. Thank you. Well done to parents and helpers for encouraging and supervising horses and riders and for bringing lunches, cake and icy poles - it was a hot day! Sara Renwick-Lau

And finally welcome to our newest four-legged members - Bella and Richard
