17.01.2022 Now that restrictions will somewhat return to what they were prior to the lockdown a note will be sent home on Monday detailing how end of year events including the concert and graduations will be managed. Please note that restrictions still apply and we need to make decisions based on how we can best manage these events to maximise the safety of students, staff and the community. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

14.01.2022 Each year Mallala Primary School provides hampers to individuals and families in our community. We would appreciate your help by donating Christmas items that will go towards building a gift hamper. Through your support, we can help make Christmas a very special time of year! We understand that this year things are a bit tough for many, so we would appreciate even one or two items from the list.... Please drop donations at the Front Office or children can pass to their classroom teacher. Some of the food and gifts we welcome are listed in the picture below. If you ard able to donate, can you please have the items to the school by this Friday 4th December Week 8 to allow time for making up the hampers and distributing next week. 09.01.2022 Due to the latest easing of restrictions school will return to normal from Monday. All buses will be operating. We look forward to seeing everyone! Please remember to still maintain the expected physical distancing which includes parents and family members remaining outside classrooms and not entering the gated area between JP classes. Ongoing hygiene practices such as hand washing, sanitising and increased classroom cleaning will also continue. Enjoy your weekend!... Sharon Okmasich Principal

09.01.2022 LATEST COVID UPDATE Letter to Parents

08.01.2022 End Of Year Update Information We thank you for your patience as we work through all of the ever-changing information being received. This year has certainly been challenging with decisions needing to be made that may not be exactly what all would like. A letter had been prepared to be sent out last Wednesday however once again circumstances changed. We will be sending this out tomorrow based on the guidelines received prior to the lockdown. These same guidelines have been r...einstated and impact our end of year celebrations including Graduations and the School Concert. Please note that students will still require costumes for the School Concert, however due to the current social distancing expectations and the possibility of another change, the concert will not have parents in attendance. We are currently in the process of sourcing a quality video option that will enable the concert to be viewed as a family and for many years to come. There will be no cost incurred for families as the school will cover. If anyone has connections or a suggestion for a person/company please contact Sharon Okmasich via phone or email. Parents will be able to attend both the Year 7 Graduation and Preschool Graduation due to the smaller numbers needing to be accommodated. Preschool to school transition will still proceed. All families directly involved in these events will be provided with ongoing updated information. Please check your child’s bag for the information letter. It will also be put up on all other media used by our school. We understand that families will have differing thoughts and feelings about the decisions. I ask that parents contact me directly should there be anything you would like to discuss. Your understanding is appreciated. Sharon

07.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID UPDATE As you may have heard schools will be closed to students tomorrow, Thursday 19 November up to and including Tuesday 24 November. Please note that school busses are still operating as per normal this afternoon.... OSHC will also operate this afternoon as normal. At this stage students will return to school on Wednesday 25 November however I will keep you updated if anything changes and as I receive further information. Stay safe and look after each other. 01.01.2022 All Parents and Caregivers There is a General Consent Form being sent home today with every student. This form MUST be filled out and sent in with your child tomorrow morning- Friday 27th November, or Monday morning at the latest.... This is to give the school permission for your child to appear in the video recording of the school concert, this coming Tuesday 1st December 2020. If we don't receive the Consent form back, your child will not be included in the recording. Thank you.
