25.01.2022 Collecting for the next project. My two girls are obsessed with the ‘treasure’. Exiting to see how this turns out :)

25.01.2022 In the shop last night, finishing a couple of apricot French rolling pins- this just shows how unique every cut of wood is. Same wood, same tree (from our garden- pruned limbs) and yet the grain pattern is so different! www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

23.01.2022 Happy spring! Miniature bud vases, perfect for all those home offices, who needs work colleagues when you’ve got a daisy? Available now. Www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

23.01.2022 On the lathe- I’m pretty good when it comes to identifying timbers but this beautiful one has me stumped, I was given it by a colleague a few years ago from his Queensland property but I have no idea what it is... when I apply the finish to the heart it’s an incredible orange colour! This one will be a rolled top bowl and I can’t wait to see it polished up. I filled some cracks with black resin but so far I haven’t hit a vein.

19.01.2022 It’s been a while since I turned a banksia nut! :) Wednesday I have a full day in the workshop, I managed to get a couple of new candle holder sets done and started working on some banksia pieces. www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

19.01.2022 Enjoying the candle holder making! I can’t lie! Couple of black wattle pieces to add to the mix. www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

17.01.2022 Happy spring everyone! Some wood sculpture to share with you all today. Being able to make something useful from a lump of wood is always hugely satisfying but making something beautiful is pretty special too. This is a winning piece in AWTEX 2019 and features a natural edge hollow form suspended in a tripod. www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

16.01.2022 In the workshop today. This is going to make an exciting natural edge piece!

16.01.2022 Plenty of baking going on during ISO (remember the flour madness at the start, crazy times lol) and it inspired me to make some French rolling pins. Would a baker in your life love a handcrafted rolling pin, made on the Mornington Peninsula? Check out the store. Rolling pins around the $40 mark plus postage. #supportlocalbusiness Www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

13.01.2022 Fun side project, what do you think? I’ve been working on embedding some amazing Australia Flora into some larger wood projects with resin and I made these coasters as a fun mini project. They are hugely popular in our household and have popped a set in the shop to test interest. What do you think? www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts

11.01.2022 On the lathe- things are starting to take shape now, turning into a beautiful natural edge piece. Mulga is a pretty exciting wood to work with but is incredibly hard so lots of extra tool sharpening happening.

09.01.2022 Busy day in the shed, three sets of candle holders, two French rolling pins and working on a new natural edge project and it’s not been 4pm. Available now www.etsy.com.au

04.01.2022 Woohooo and we are done, so pleased with this piece. After 4.5 hours on the lathe, this mulga vase is finished. Natural edge pieces are really something I love creating. This wood is incredible. On the Etsy store now and includes pictures of the vase being made and the view down into the vase which looks like a wormhole. Check it out www.etsy.com/au/shop/malleewoodcrafts
