25.01.2022 We designed the new website for The Ranch Mornington Peninsula, located in Boneo. This website includes sections for their various offerings, including horse riding, accommodation and weddings.

24.01.2022 We're past the halfway point of stage 4 lockdown! Apologies for being so quiet on here it's been incredibly busy behind the scenes. We have a heap of projects to share on here, but our focus has been on helping clients with what they need to get through this 6 weeks. The first week, we were inundated with update requests primarily communications for the lockdown, which was so heartbreaking to do as many of our clients have had to close their doors completely for this rou...nd. The second week was catching up on projects that were scheduled for the week prior, and since last week, we're back on schedule. However, with our three kids at home, things are taking a little longer than usual. We might not reply to an email straight away, but please rest assured we will get back to you as soon as we can (usually within a day). Thank you for your patience and we hope you are all coping okay out there

23.01.2022 NEW BLOG "Looking for a colour beyond your printer?" The dilemma of standard printing is that you're limited to CMYK. But what if you want a colour that's brighter than what CMYK offers?... That's where Pantone inks come in handy! While they are more expensive to print with, if you are after a colour that can't be made with CMYK (the inks your home/office printer use, and most professional digital printers use) this can be the answer. 23.01.2022 New website we recently designed for Diamond Denture Studios in Hastings. One of the parts that makes us a little sad this year, is that every website we have built has had to have a "notices" box or area set up to use because of the constantly changing situation with COVID restrictions. We look forward to the day that all of you no longer need to use your notices on your websites

23.01.2022 New website we recently designed for Creative Makes in Hastings. Mel had outgrown her DIY online store, so we built a customised online store with lots of options to grow into, beyond selling craft supplies including enrolment into classes each term, one-off workshops and even download-only products. It was a joy to work on as Sarah has personally loved Creative Makes from its inception so it was extremely special to be approached to work on this project

21.01.2022 One of the hardest things this year has been seeing our event clients needing to cancel or postpone their events. Some had no choice but to indefinitely postpone until we're allowed to "live normally" again, while others have come up with ingenious ways to continue functioning. Melbourne Jewish Book Week had to cancel only weeks from their event this year (we literally had everything ready to go design-wise, let alone the rest of their planning that was complete), but are now staying active by presenting author interviews each month on Zoom. We consider ourselves so lucky that we have access to the internet during this pandemic it's been a space for new opportunities and a touch of optimism during a really rough time

21.01.2022 Melbourne, we are finally out of lockdown! This week has been a little crazy helping a lot of you get some last minute pieces done in time for your reopenings (website updates, flyers, forms and more!), but we are so excited that many of you get to finally be back in your happy places, doing what you love. Aside from the mayhem of this week, we have been working with a number of our clients "behind the scenes" during lockdown to help them come back bigger and better than eve...r and it's been really lovely to be a part of that journey, especially during such an uncertain time. You are all superstars with thinking of new ways to leverage your skills and offerings in your businesses. However, we know it's not all "back to normal" yet; our hearts are still with those of you who run indoor businesses who aren't yet able to open. We hope that your turn is coming very soon. Be kind to everyone you pass, be patient as you venture out to your favourite businesses you've missed so much; while there is a lot of joy this week from a customer perspective, most business owners are trying to understand and plan for what a "new normal" will look like. It will take time, but they all appreciate your kindness and support as we do, too.

20.01.2022 Promotional flyer designed for Innerspirit Property Styling. This included recreating the graph to match the style of their brand, to give it a seamless look.

19.01.2022 Back to sharing some projects we've been working on...we'll try to post 2-3 each week again. If you don't see a post for a while, it means we're working hard in the background :) Talking of working hard, the website we designed for the Western Port Biosphere (www.biosphere.org.au) was a labour of love. We were given the task to design a website that was easy to navigate and filter through over 100 documents and that system be set up to grow. While the Home page may look con...cise and friendly, this is a very content-rich website. But that was the goal: make it easy to access information. We set up a detailed search function to also support the website, allowing visitors to quickly search for relevant information using keywords. For our local folks, on a personal note: our biosphere is on our doorstep, Western Port Bay. Please learn about it's importance. We are so lucky to have such a special part of Earth here, recognised worldwide. I think people outside the area know more about here than we do. There are some wonderful walks to do, and incredible birdlife to see

17.01.2022 A snippet of a packaging design refresh we've been working on

16.01.2022 DL brochure for Benton Insurance Services in Hastings. We have designed a few targeted insurance brochures for their business, as they have key industries they are able to provide specialist support for (such as farming and aviation).

16.01.2022 Happy Monday! I can't believe how fast the weeks are going now that school and kinder are back. I thought I'd better get back onto adding some highlights of projects we've been working on lately...and the development on this one goes back to much earlier this year. "Small world" story for this one Jenna at Lamingoo contacted us via email, wanting help with the design of her clock faces. We soon realised we actually live incredibly close to each other Somerville is very small, what can I say! Jenna knew how she needed the clock faces to function, but needed them styled for kids rooms, while still serving their educational purpose. We created a range of colour schemes and clock sizes with her. She launched them mid-2020 and it has been wonderful watching her business grow

15.01.2022 Letterheads They are printed less often now, but are used daily in places we take for granted (such as on quotes and invoices). It's a powerful little piece of branding that your customers sight over and over again. As a business owner don't take it for granted. Make sure it looks professional. It shows that you care about all of the little details; it builds trust. If you're using your letterhead for sending out quotes or introductions, consider that how it presents may ...play a part in a customer's decision-making process. [ Letterhead recently designed for Somerville business iNani Solutions. Watch this space for the matching business cards...we'll share them early next week. They turned out amazing...can't wait to show you all ]

14.01.2022 Logo design for iNani solutions, based in Somerville. iNani means "with you" in Zulu, which is a personal connection for the owner (and so incredibly sweet). To incorporate the connection, we created an icon of two abstract hands together.

12.01.2022 Real estate didn't stop in winter, even with lockdown getting in the way of doing things "normal". DL flyers designed and printed for Liz Wall Lifestyle Properties.

12.01.2022 We are still supporting our local community and sporting groups in any way we can, no matter how tough this year is for all of us. Even though the footy season is off this year, we know that they still have costs to meet to be able to play again next year, so our little bit of sponsorship is the least we could do

11.01.2022 Website we developed for Diaries of A Casual Worker, using the brand and colour palette we designed; a blog where Bev shares stories from her time in the casual workforce.

10.01.2022 Thoughtful Thursday

08.01.2022 Back in 2011, we designed a website for Surefoot Mat. That website carried them through all the way to 2020 (which feels like a lifetime in webdesign terms, a lot has changed in coding and possibilities since then). Fast forward to this year, and we were given the opportunity to do a redesign not a refresh, this was starting from scratch. This included new navigation, new pages/content and a whole new layout. I think the only thing that carried across was their logo and brand colours!

07.01.2022 Here we are again, back in lockdown. We were so close to going back to in-person meetings and workshops, but will continue working remotely and running workshops online for the foreseeable future. We can hop onto Zoom anytime you need to see a face for a chat, and not just hear a voice. Our hearts go out to all of you who have just reopened your businesses in the past few weeks (some even just this week). We know how hard you worked to make everything "COVID-safe" and made changes to be able to simply open your doors. Reading all of your posts tonight has been heartbreaking; we are surrounded by incredibly resilient, patient, creative and kind people. Keep your chins up, and make sure to soak up some winter sunshine between the rainy days

05.01.2022 NEW BLOG "Websites and Copyright" Recently, I was chatting to one of our clients about her website content. She was rewriting her website pages, as she felt they were being copied from others in her industry. From this, the conversation about what's covered by copyright on a website came up.... Firstly a website in its entirety is not under copyright, it's the elements that make the website that are subject to copyright individually, eg. your business logo, photos, illustrations, videos, animations, and text. And generally, most elements that makes up a website will have copyright. Read more: www.malvolio.com.au/blog

02.01.2022 Sometimes, you get to do a project that turns out more amazing than you could ever hope for. These business cards for iNani Solutions is one of those projects. A memorable card on silver and aqua foil finish on thick black cardstock: one of those types of cards you want to keep in your collection not only for the contact details, but because it looks and feels special

01.01.2022 Logo design we created for local Somerville business Cartwright Building Group.
