20.01.2022 Yet another drone video, this time of our native tree nursery and gubinge orchard. The drone flies from north east to south west towards Broome over our nursery, and first you see our ablutions, mini office, large shed, then power house with solar array, then our green house (in white), our nursery then a fly over of the gubinge orchard! Not too bad for 6 years worth of development and the operation of a native tree nursery. We will commnce bush bee hive installation towards ...the end of this year which we hope to increase the pollenation event and therefore achieve more fruit! We will also be looking at hand pollentation to increase yields. The other research and development project we have is to determine the three or four different species of gubinge in the Broome area. To do this we will look for key DNA markers to determine T.ferdinandiana, T.ferndinandiana petolaris cross, (hopefully)T.latipes, (?)T.hadleyana, (?)T.Carpentariae at our Skuthorpe gubinge orchard where we have 1,000+ trees. Plese note we grow to order. If youre a garden landscaper who is tendering on supply native contracts, come in and see us early, we can just about cover most native tree orders with 6 months notice. We can also do none native species that most Broome residents have.

05.01.2022 I think we got a little stronger winds than Broomes 120kms, while damage looks bad it was localised - Ie a mini tornado with a 10m path going right down the alley - those benches are 100kgs plus - tossed around like nothing!!

05.01.2022 One of two trial gubinge plots at our Crab Creek Rd Seed Bank. These trees were planted on 1st June 2019, so very good growth in one year. These plots are just 50m x 50m and trees were spaced out up to 5.0m apart, we will change this to 100m x 50m plots and plant trees just 3.0m apart there by increasing the amount of plants per hectare.

05.01.2022 Fire breaks are constructed, plus access track to first 5 hectare plantation (top left clearing is 100m x 500m), unisex ablutions about to be commissioned, slowly getting back on track.

02.01.2022 The $100,000 R.E.D. Funding from Allana MacTiernans Office for Gubinge trials at Water Corporations Treatment Plant hailed a success! After the fist six months two 50m x 50m trial plots were installed with nearly 500 Gubinge plants in June 2019. Here we have moved away from Savannah Enrichment style planting (which is actually in the back ground - ex Green Army Program with 5,000 threatened species planted in 2017) in favor of cleared 50m x 50m reticulated plots for better a...ccess and less maintenance. Existing bush will be left and surround each plot to minimize erosion, maximize available pollinators, provide wind breaks for flowering events and reduce clearing needed. Here Neil Gower CEO Mamabulanjin explains to outgoing Senior Manager in Mark Leathersich of the Water Corporation the success of the trial plots and shown here replacing a Gubinge tree along a dual reticulation line that gives wider area of dampness for maximizing root growth. Mamabulanjin commences the six remaining research and development plots at its new site the Fruit Farm with clearing of the plantation plots already started this week.

02.01.2022 Super fruit - Gubinge trials have commenced at our Seed Bank at Water Corps WWTP site. The first agronomy trial plot was fully reticulated last week with about 150 gubinge plants being planted later this week. Agronomy trial plots will also be installed at the new fruit farm site on McGuigan Road later this year. The fauna survey has been completed by GHD and assisted by Rangers - we are just awaiting our final approvals before commencing works at the new 200 hectare fruit farm site.
