24.01.2022 SPRING CLEAN YOUR GUT WITH MY DELICIOUS CHICKEN STOCK PASTE! This little jar of pure goodness is great for the immune system, good for your skin (due to the high collagen content), plus it's a practical way to add gut healing in to your daily diet. You simply add 1 teaspoon into a mug of boiling water, to make a low calorie, tasty chicken broth. It can also be added into dinners such as spaghetti bolognaise, tacos, soups, curries, rice dishes etc. - it's a great hidden immun...e booster for fussy kids. Our gut health is so important; the immune system is strongly linked to the health of our gut....just one of the many reasons why we need to look after it! The gut also needs to be the focus of any health mission, whether it be weight loss or immune boosting diets...Poor gut health can also be associated with poor mental health. I make my chicken stock paste, by combining my bone broth (which I also sell for $10 a jar) with organic chicken, and all sorts of beautiful anti-inflammatory herbs and spices such as turmeric, ginger and rosemary. They are $15 a jar, or 4 for $50. They are Gluten and Dairy, Free, FODMAP friendly, plus good for people who follow paleo or keto due to the really low carb content. Can also be made low salicylate on request. Place an order by PM'ing me (Megs) or text/call me on 0400 590 613 - or for any questions you may have about any of my products, services and programs.

24.01.2022 Hoffy’s 8 Week Challenges are a great way to get super fit and healthy...she has helped so many achieve great results in the past. Somehow she makes exercise and sweating super fun, and you walk out of her training sessions on an exercise high. I’m the nutritionist that helps out too with any food and nutrition questions you may have over the 8 weeks, plus I provide lots of nutritionally balanced recipes. I also do supermarket tours at Aldis and Woolies at the start of the challenge to point you in the right direction with your food. Contact Julie Hoffman today to sign up or if you’ve got any questions x

22.01.2022 Another Woolworths Emerald Supermarket tour, with this lovely bunch from Hoffy’s Intensity Challenge! I run these tours at Woolworths Emerald and Monbulk Aldis. To book a tour either message/call me (Megs) on 0400 590 613. Tours are $45. *tours can be organised at other local supermarkets too, either hills based or Beaconsfield/Emera...ld/Pakenham by prior arrangement. Just ring me to book in a time. * cost can also be shared if there is a few of you or group that want to do a tour together

22.01.2022 These bad boys are making a show in my girls lunchboxes this week - how much fun is it doing lunches again!!!? Great for something sweet without the evil white stuff...they are sweetened with dates, plus a little fibre and energy hit. Gluten free/dairy free and seriously delicious. 2 is a snack size as they still have relatively high natural sugars in them due to the dates. Although natural sugars are a much better alternative to white sugar, we still have to watch how m...uch we feed our kids and ourselves with it. You’ll find them in the health food section at Woolies and they’re on special this week. Some Woolworths will stock different flavours too, but unfortunately Emerald is only doing the choc ones at the moment. Hope you‘re all having a fabulous first week with the kids back at school & not too many meltdowns Megs x

20.01.2022 My Supermarket Tour at the IGA in Cockatoo tomorrow morning, is cancelled due to the crazy impact the corona virus is having on our supermarkets and community. Stay safe, calm and positive everybody - boost those immune systems with olive leaf extract and highly nutritious foods and we will all get through this together! Megs x

19.01.2022 This chicken stock paste is the bomb! And on a freezing cold winters day like today, everybody needs it. Full of anti inflammatory herbs like ginger, turmeric and rosemary this product is so versatile. Full of collagen, not only is it good for gut healing, but it’s also great for the immune system and the skin. It’s basically a combination of bone broth that I’ve made into a paste to make it more versatile for cooking. You add one teaspoon into a mug of hot water and it make...s the best cup of soup ever. You can also use it as a replacement for any other recipe using stock. I use it as an immune booster in my kids meals such as spag bol, tacos, soups, curries etc. $15 a jar - it is a little jar of health. Message me for orders or call me (Megs) on 0400 590 613. Can also deliver locally (Emerald, Cockatoo, Monbulk and Avonsleigh) for 4 of more products bought. Other products I sell are kombucha, chicken/lamb/veggie bone broth, turmeric paste, veggie broths and turmeric paste. # #nutritionist#nutritionalbalance_mamamegs#guthealing#guthealth#weightlossprograms#fodmapfriendly#glutenfree#immunehealth#bonebroth#passionateaboutguthealth See more

19.01.2022 https://www.abc.net.au//fibre-has-big-benefits-an/10891844 June is Bowel Cancer Awareness month, and with bowel cancer in my family history with my dear old dad, it is something I am passionate about. One of the best things you can do to prevent this cancer is to have enough fibre a day; and unfortunately in today’s diet full of refined carbohydrates, or to the other extreme - reduced carbs, we unfortunately aren’t getting enough fibre. ... The article attached summarized fibre and it’s higr importance in our diet beautifully. It is something that is so easy to do, chia seeds and porridge, dark wholegrain breads, legumes, veggies and fruit...it’s not hard or fancy. Fibre is so easily the forgotten nutrient sometimes. Another great thing you can do to prevent bowel cancer is reduce meat consumption - no one needs meat more than once a day, or even every day. Even if it’s just Meat Free Monday you partake in. And always remember my golden rule; two kiwi fruit a day will keep the doctor away!!

15.01.2022 B ES T P U M P K I N S O U P E V E R Ok big call I know, especially when it’s got chicken added to it! But this is seriously good, and unlike other pumpkin soups, it’s super filling, as it’s got protein added to it with the chicken and nut butter. It’s also got brown rice for good slow releasing energy. Guaranteed to fill any man up. Miso paste too which is good for feeding gut bacteria and ginger and chili to stimulate your metabolism.... Recipe: chop and add 500g pumpkin (Kent or Jap for FODMAP peeps) and 400g sliced chicken into an oiled stock pot. Add a tbsp each of grated ginger, soy/tamari, chili, miso paste and almond butter. Add 500 mls any broth (although Mama Megs is best!) then add a cup of cooked brown rice. Cook for 20 mins on a medium heat then blend so there’s no chunky bits. I like to garnish with feta or Greek yogurt and pumpkin seeds. - #nutritionist#nutritionalbalance_mamamegs #guthealth#weightlossprograms#fuelyourbody#fodmapfriendly#glutenfree#letsembracewinter#cleaneating#healthysoups#passionateaboutguthealth#bonebroth# See more

12.01.2022 RAW BANANA BLISS BOMBS I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to experiment with ripe bananas and bliss balls...these are super good, taste like raw banana cake, and are much easier than making a banana cake with ripe bananas. They are dairy free and can be made gluten free too if using GF oats, or simply swap the oats to quinoa flakes. The dates only have a small amount, so less natural sugar, plus should be fine for FODMAP people to tolerate i...f only having one ball. If wanting to make nut free, add extra oats and leave out the walnuts. Ingredients: 2 x ripe bananas, 2.5 x cups oats, 1/2 cup toasted walnuts, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 2 x tbsp coconut oil, 1 x tbsp maple syrup, 5 x small dates. Add all ingredients into a food processor or thermomix and blitz until all combined. They will be kinda soft so just refrigerate until they set, and then keep them in the fridge. You can roll them in coconut or chia seeds to give an omega 3 hit. These are a great little natural energy snack for little ones or big ones! #nutritionist#nutritionalbalance#fodmaps#glutenfree#dairyfree#guthealth#lunchboxideas#weightlossprograms#toolongabreakfrominsta# See more

12.01.2022 My fave lunch...Tuna Avocado Salad with Orange Sesame Dressing. This is my easy, go to lunch at least twice a week; full of good omega 3 fats, protein, fibre, nutrients and a small amount of carbs....a perfectly balanced meal to keep you going all arvo. It’s so friggen easy too...tinned tuna, tinned lentils, spinach, tomato, cucumber, avocado, red capsicum, walnuts, chia seeds, paleo mix and a little bit of feta. The dressing is the bomb too- 1 tsp sesame oil with 1/4 cup orange juice. Make extra dressing and drizzle it over other salads and veggies for the week. - #nutritionist#guthealth#cleaneating#gf#fodmapfriendly#bringonspring#weightlossprograms#fuelyourbodyproperly#goodfatsforthebrain#ilovethatschoolholidaysareover

12.01.2022 Supercharge your immune system with this highly nutritious, super delicious soup. If you like my Skinny Soup, you've got to try this one too!

11.01.2022 My new fave lunch or dinner - Vego Buddha Bowls. It literally took me 5 mins to make. Tofu is so filling and such an easy swap for meat, especially at lunch. The trick is to cook it properly with lots of flavour. Try cooking on the frypan for a few minutes each side with a tbsp each of chilli oil and something slightly sweet like pomegranate dres...sing or ketchup manis, plus salt and pepper. Then load up your bowl with your favourite salads like lil red capsicums, rocket, cherry tomatoes, guacamole and radish for the crunch factor. No recipe required plus they totally work in my household where everyone has different needs...gluten and fructose intolerance, plus a vego husband! Simply mix and match with everyone’s favourite protein or salad. not to mention freaking delicious, filling, full of nutrients, good fats, fibre and protein. #nutritionist#emerald#weightlossprogram#guthealth#healthycleaneating#glutenfree#FODMAPfriendly#dairyfree#loselockdownweight#cutthecovidcurve#finallygettingmymojobackinthekitchenafterlockdown#onlineandfacetofaceconsults#detox#6weekweightlossprograms See more

08.01.2022 An easy, healthy, delicious dinner that’s both gluten free and FODMAP friendly....but certainly not taste free! This recipe is one of my family friendly recipes, that’s included in my Weight Loss Programs If anyone needs thermomix adaptation too let me know x

06.01.2022 This Turmeric Anti-inflammatory Juice is a ripper juice recipe for those that struggle with inflammation in the body; whether it be joint related, muscular or digestive. Great recipe for those that juice in the morning too as part of a fasting/low cal day, or to increase energy. You can add a little bit of cayenne and black pepper too, which combined with the turmeric, make it a warming juice for these cold autumn mornings. Recipe: -150 mls coconut water -1 tbsp grated fresh ...turmeric (or 1 x tsp turmeric powder) -1 x small carrot -pinch black pepper and cayenne pepper (optional) -1/2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (local and raw honey is best for gut bacteria and allergies) -1 x cm knob ginger - juice from 1 x orange Blend all ingredients in a blender/thermomix/nutribullet until smooth. Add a handful of ice if you like it cold. This juice is one of the recipes from my gut cleansing/detox and weight loss programs. X

06.01.2022 Another fresh batch of delicious and nutritious Mama Megs chicken stock paste is ready, plus I’ve got a massive batch of bone broth cooking, much to my girls disgust! Anyone needing either of these, feel free to come pick up from me (in Emerald) for contactless collection or I can deliver in the Emerald / Monbulk/ Cockatoo areas, and leave on your doorstep. Just pm me your deets or give me a buzz. These golden goodness jars of health, are full of immune boosting and anti i...nflammatory herbs & spices such as turmeric, ginger and mint. They are great for boosting the immune system and working on gut health, as the two are so strongly correlated. The bone broth you drink as is (like a soup) whereas the stock paste you add in to cooking for an immune boosting kick. Add it soups, curries, tacos, spag bol or even make an easy, healthy cup of soup out of it. Stock paste is $15 a jar, bone broths (chicken, lamb, or veggie) are $10 a jar, or 6 for $50. I’m also still doing orders for kombucha and bliss balls, so PM me or call if you would like any. As far as consults go, sadly I’m not seeing clients face to face, but are still doing Skype/zoom/FaceTime/ etc. Stay healthy, sane & strong everybody. Megs x

04.01.2022 The new IGA at Cockatoo is an absolute pleasure to shop at. Their range of products is huge - and they have a great health food, gluten free and vegetarian section. I’m running one of my supermarket tours there on Tuesday 24th March at 10:45am. On my tours I teach you about how to read labels and how much sugar, fat, protein, carbs etc you should be looking at. I show you good food products, bad food products, teach you about preservatives, additives, numbers and all sorts o...f nutritional info to help you shop healthier. I also answer lots of questions you might have about your own products you buy. I’m charging only $10 per person for this tour - message me or text/call on 0400 590 613 if you’d like to join me! Megs x * I also run these supermarket tours at Aldis and Woolworths. If you’d like to book a private tour they are $45.

03.01.2022 W I N T E R W E L L N E S S It makes sense that as the weather changes so do our eating habits, but unfortunately with cooler weather, for some eating habits become habitually worse. Motivation, as well as exercise go right out the window. Instead of this occurring try 'flipping the switch' and looking at this winter and colder months from a different perspective. In the colder months we tend to have more time to spend on ourselves for both prepping food and even exercis...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Posh Porridge... the best way to start the day! Porridge is even good for lunch or as a mid afternoon pick me up, to power you through the rest of your day. This little bowl of goodness has half a cup of oats, 1/2 cup hot water, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 3 sliced dates, half a banana, raspberries, tbsp chia seeds, tbsp paleo mix, tbsp almond butter (or peanut butter) with 1/2 cup almond milk, a dollop of Greek yogurt, plus a few sprigs of mint....it tastes like salted caramel goodnes...s. Full of plant based protein this bowl will fill you up until lunch....FODMAPS peeps swap your dates to cranberries and vegans swap your yogurt to coconut yogurt. I’ve used the Gluten free oats but Coeliacs can swap oats for rice or quinoa flakes. #nutritionist#cleaneating#weightlossprograms#guthealth#nutritionalbalance_mamamegs#emeraldvictoria#vegetarian#FODMAPS#glutenfree See more

01.01.2022 Ok random pic I know....especially considering I’ve hardly posted over these tedious lockdown months. But - I’m coming out of hibernation, and going to start putting up different food products that get my tick off approval. Sadly, I can’t do my supermarket shopping tours yet, I can’t consult face to face still until the 20th October (online appointments are fine) but I CAN post different food products that might help some mama bears out there, keep their kids happy and heal...thy. My first food product review is quite strangely a Frozen icy pole!! My girls and I have given them the taste test, and they’re made with the artificial sugars that I DO like. There are lots of artificial sugars in food to be wary of, that really shouldn’t be put into our bodies, as they are too hard for our digestive system to absorb. However natvia, stevia, erythritol and even maltitol are artificial sugars that I DO like. I’m hearing lots of reports from mums where kids (and adults!) have put on weight in lock down....my advise is don’t worry yet. They will hopefully burn it off in the next few months...so don’t worry - unless that covid curve is still on their little bodies in 2021. However, now is the time for kids and adults to start cutting back the treats that have possibly helped us mums through lockdown..and the sugar free frozen icy poles are a great way to start! They’re available from Woolies. I hope you’re all surviving ok - we’re almost there! And I can’t wait to see some of your lovely faces in a few weeks!! Megs x
