24.01.2022 Officially signing off for 2020!!! I just wanted to say again a big thank you to all of you for supporting mama movement's launch year. Like seriously, wow, all of you. Thank you. Since we launched on the 13th of July:... Over 800 orders placed, containing almost 2000 items 1 in 4 customers have already come back for a repeat order (which is incredible given we are less than 6 months old!!) This amount of growth enabled us to grow our sizing range, and we now stock XS to 3XL (ie size AU 6 to AU 20 and growing) Over 5.5k of you following our journey on Instagram 3 photoshoots, featuring a total of 9 women in different shapes and sizes, none of whom were professional models but everyday amazing women rocking it for body positivity Hundreds of women featured in our instastories rocking their mama movement gear. 23.01.2022 Bring On Summer... Only a couple more weeks to the official start of summer, and before these gorgeous swimmers land here! I wore them to the beach today for the first time and had soooo many compliments from strangers. ... The thing is, I never know how to respond when people come up to me and compliment my gear LOL! I just say "Oh thanks so much!!! " But I feel too awkward to say "I DESIGNED THEM!! GO CHECK OUT MAMA MOVEMENT!". I think being in iso for so long and working with no co-workers (except for my 2 year old Head of Marketing) has made me a little bit awkward in public.. But seriously you guys. These swimmers. I could not be happier with them!!! They are so fun and just so darned cute, while holding everything in snugly, especially with the high waisted double layered bottom. You can just start loving your body because it DOES GOOD STUFF and then more likely than not, you're going to start thinking it looks pretty good too. So why do I love my body? I love it because it has taken me on so many adventures! I have danced the night away till my feet hurt (many times but not in a long time LOL!) , climbed the steps of the Cinque Terre , dived a...mongst the corals of the Andaman Sea , birthed my beautiful daughter after a 3-day labour , the list goes on and on and on. All these things, I have been able to do because my body is capable, because my body IS GOOD. And that's why I keep myself active and nourish my body, to say to it please body, carry me on more wonderful adventures. What do you love YOUR body for? My daughter adores being matchy matchy with me and when I first started mama movement, I thought I was going to do ALL THE THINGS in matching. But then it became a little bit too costly to do so, so now I only pick and choose select prints and styles to do matching styles in. 18.01.2022 "Exercise because you love your body, NOT because you hate it." At Mama Movement, we believe that movement is meant to be FUN. It's meant to be enjoyable, and to give you ALL the happy feels afterwards. Yes you may have some moments in the middle of burpee number 32 or 1km into your run where your brain goes "THIS HURTS. OUCH. WHY AM I DOING THIS". But if you just keep breathing through the discomfort (which is not the same as pain!), you'll eventually hit the s...weet sweet euphoria of endorphin release! I shared an excerpt in my stories from @clementine_ford where she talks about "finding something your body likes to do, and then doing it!!" Every body is different, and so what that might be for you will be different from what that will be for me. But I thought I'd share a list of mine: - Dancing. I am not a "trained dancer" but I have danced on and off throughout my life. I currently do lyra, which is both a form of circus fitness and lyrical dance. - HIIT. I love the burn of an intense, fast, concentrated workout where my heart rate speeds up, my muscles burn, I push to my limits, and then... it's all over - Yoga. This one is SO good for mind and body. Learning to breathe through the discomfort, practising strong poses while staying soft, and learning to block out the past and the future in order to focus on the present moment. - Hiking. Climbing up a mountain to be rewarded by a beautiful view. Inhaling the sweet sounds and smells of nature and the warmth of the sun against my skin. Are any of these the same for you? 13.01.2022 How incredible is a woman's body?? The ability to create life, to expand and grow to accommodate another living thing within. A woman’s heart, strong enough to move through so much pain, so selfless to give almost all of herself to the tiny humans she loves, at least for a time. I've always thought us girls were pretty awesome (when I was 10 I started up a blog called Galz Rule LOL ) but my admiration for women really grew when I became a mother. Diana ...(pictured here) modelled for us in our very first photoshoot and I was so delighted to have her back again to model our upcoming maternity and nursing range. 09.01.2022 Hey mama movement fam! Just popping up to say hello! We are very much enjoying our mini Christmas break over here and hope you are too I’ve always loved Christmas. It’s a magical time of year . And after the year we’ve had, it’s felt extra special to get to spend time together with our friends and family and even getting to do some exploring again. ... We honestly feel so lucky to have had the Christmas we’ve had. Getting out about, and rocking our mama movement matchy gear in the process I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas break so far! 08.01.2022 Happy new year everyone! Today I spent some time reflecting on the year that was. When my husband was asked by a friend yesterday what the highlight of his 2020 was, he looked at me and said Can I say mama movement? ... And it’s true. As crappy a year that it has been, I actually feel so grateful for so many things. For this label that has truly given me a purpose and a mission. I started the year lost but hopeful, a shell of who I was because of the circumstances I had found myself in career wise. I took a leap of faith and started a business, off the one guiding hope that I would make a difference with my dream, that I could work in an area I believed so passionately in, the empowerment of women. And what a year it’s been And from a personal level, I’ve felt so grateful for the time we’ve been able to spend as a family. The 3 of us, stuck at home, has seen the sweetest growth in closeness between my daughter and her daddy. And actually between myself and my husband too. So. Tonight as I’m already in bed at 11pm, one hour before the typical midnight countdown (Mum life and no fireworks to stay up for anyway!!), I feel grateful for the good things that have happened in 2020 despite all the pain. And I stay optimistic and hopeful that 2021 will be a better year for all. I haven’t set any New Years resolutions for 2021, but I have a word in mind that I want to try and live by for the year. JOY. I want to make every decision based on what’s going to bring the most JOY. Not just to me, but also to my loved ones, to you my beautiful mama movement fam, and to the world. After all, life is short and unpredictable. But if I can live each day choosing to live and spread JOY, I think it will be a good year. Happy New Year everyone! Ps: yes I’m still on my little break but couldn’t help break that to write and post this reflection. So feel free to share your goals for 2021, or maybe your words to live by too. I’d love to read them :)

02.01.2022 Sherbet Scales was a print that was meant to only be part of our Spring/Summer Collection. After all, as you may have seen on my stories today, it is *amazing* on swimwear. However... I just couldn't help myself. From the moment I received my first prototype of the mermaid leggings (and sports crop!) I was obsessed. I just knew that these were a style that would brighten up ANY winter's day. So... I moved the schedule around and bumped up Sherbet Scale...s to come in the Autumn/Winter Second Drop. And I could not be happier with this decision!! These gorgeous babies will be here in around 2-3 weeks time (together with Lady Leopard!) and I just cannot wait to get them out to all of you to brighten your winter days Available now for preorder in full length and 7/8 length leggings (I recommend full length for women over 165cm who want the extra ankle coverage in winter!) and our brand new Liberty Hookback Crops.
