23.01.2022 Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a group of Managers based in a Queensland Hospital in the Mindful Leadership Development Program. These Leaders were from such a wide spectrum of age groups & backgrounds, and I have to say my favourite part about working with this group, was seeing how closely they were able to bond throughout the program. It was truly a delight. As the group went through the program, and learnt more about themselves, they also learnt more about e...ach, their leadership styles, how they communicate, and as a group started to develop some really connected cultural norms that worked best for their group and the personalities in it. Working with groups like this is such an insightful and meaningful process, seeing humans come together and connect in this way, in the workplace, is a very powerful process. Grateful to have had the opportunity, and excited to open the door for many more organisations to do this work #mindfulleader #leadership #teamculture #mindfulnessatwork
22.01.2022 The way you are may be a result of what you’ve seen & be taught, but regardless it’s YOUR responsibility to do something about it. YOU are the only personal who can change YOU. You can choose to blame, point fingers and deflect accountability, but this only keeps YOU right where YOU are right now. It all starts with YOU and your choices, so how will you show up differently today to start being who you want to be and the change you want to see in this world?

15.01.2022 Fostering and deepening #CONNECTION should always be a a primary goal as Leaders in the workplace. As human beings, at our core, we have a fundamental need for connection and to be seen and heard, this is particularly important in our work. As Leaders fostering connection over disconnection will engage our employees in our organisation, it also shows we value them and helps us to connect with them on a deeper level to understand their needs so we can best serve them in our #L...eadership. When we shift from disconnection to connection, our relationship with our employees deepens, it creates loyalty and trust and it motivates everyone to work for a cause greater than themselves - that's where the true MAGIC comes from! For me, as a Leader, when I begun to really integrate the idea of others being right (in their own mind) it completely diminished my combativeness whilst in conflict, it also radically changed the way I viewed other people, I was able to more deeply connect from their perspective and have more understanding about why they were acting, behaving and thinking that way... Reflect on the image below... where do you see area for growth in your own personal Leadership style? Also, fostering connection in these ways will profoundly benefit your personal life too! #leadership #employeeengagement #mindfulnessatwork #leader #mindfulleadership
08.01.2022 At Management Mindfulness, our mission is to inspire Leaders to become the best versions of themselves bringing empathy, self-awareness and mindfulness to their organisations, creating a culture of inclusivity, understanding and presentism. We know that Leadership is a LEARNED skill, one that can be developed by anyone, with the right mindset and investment into ones-self. If your business has high employee turnover, low engagement and productivity, if the team suffers cultur...e and morale issues - it's time to look at YOU, the Leader, and how you need to change to address this. You see, all organisational issues stem from a central point in the business, Leadership. To grow your business, engage and retain quality staff, to increase productivity AND make more money, focus on your Leadership ability. Our next Leadership Development Program begins June 9th and takes only 15 Leaders into the program! 01.01.2022 To be a great Leader, we have to be comfortable with asking the RIGHT questions! The right question depends on the circumstance, however my advice when asking questions is: 1. Stay Open - avoid making judgement, and notice your mind forming opinions and creating stories. Listening to this will inhibit your ability to stay open to what's actually being said.... 2. Stay Curious - invite the opportunity to learn something from the questions you ask; a perspective, an insight, a new way of doing things, staying curious is the opposite of becoming defensive. In mindfulness we call this the #beginnersmind. 3. Be ready to act - remember that time you were asked your opinion or feedback, and the person asking took absolutely no notice of what you said and did nothing about it? How'd it make you feel? Probably frustrated and disconnected from them. That's EXACTLY what we want to avoid here. If we're going to ask the questions, we need to be ready to act on what we hearing from employees. This doesn't always mean problem solve in the moment or be hasty, but asking questions with no conviction to follow up will put in a worse position then if you'd never asked in the first place! Try some of my go-to questions below! What would you add to the list? #leadership #mindfulleadership #HR #employeeengagement #workbetter #mindfulnessatwork #enjoywork #leader #bossbehaviour
