19.01.2022 Back in March (when we were still allowed to socialise!) we held an event to celebrate 100 episodes of The Juggle Podcast. We came together in early 2018 with a similar vision: we wanted the world to be a place where women didnt feel like they needed to leave their career when they had children. Where they didnt feel less because they were choosing to work flexibly. Where they didnt feel alone and overwhelmed. We created The Juggle Podcast and The Juggle Community on... Facebook. We now have over 800 women in that community, have passed 100 episodes on the podcast, have over 53,000 downloads, and now have listeners all around the world. Were all busy going through the motions of life and we dont often make time to stop, pause and reflect on what weve done. So we made sure we did this time! Over the next few episodes of The Juggle Podcast well share the presentations given by our amazing guest speakers at the event as we celebrated 100 episodes, celebrated #IWD2020 and #eachforequal and designed our juggle for the coming decade. 17.01.2022 Have you been working from home during lockdown? It certainly hasnt been an easy time for most of us. Juggling work while the kids are home from school and a pandemic has broken out is not easy. But it has shown many employees and business owners that working remotely and flexibly is much more doable than assumed. If you want to continue working flexibly, feel free to get in touch. We have a free guide on our website to help you apply for flexible working with your employer and we offer a more hands-on package too in our services section. Image from @anthroliving
16.01.2022 How are you coping with the 2020 mental load? Because juggling parenting and work wasn’t tricky enough, a pandemic came along... and many families are still in lockdown. Back in episode 106 of The Juggle Podcast we talked with psychologist Katrina Alilovic about how our lives have changed during the current pandemic, the mental load we now carry, and how we can handle that mental load. Some of our key take aways include:... - Be prepared for the long haul. - Create a new do and don’t list that takes into account your changed circumstances. - Allow yourself to feel all the things tired, loss, resentment and whatever else. - Give yourself time to deal with things. We hope you’re doing okay and as always, we are here if you’d like to chat in our Facebook group - The Juggle Community Image from @nannaberggren See more
15.01.2022 Our latest podcast episode is about time management one of our favourite topics! The overwhelming challenge women tell us they face is managing their time. Finding enough hours in the day to fit all the things that need to be done can be a struggle, but it is far from impossible. We spoke to time management and productivity expert, Laura Vanderkam, about her new book Off The Clock and exactly how to feel less busy while getting more done. Laura Vanderkam is the author... of several time management and productivity books, including Off the Clock, I Know How She Does It, What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, and 168 Hours. If anyone can help us to manage our time, its her! Laura is not about finding little shortcut productivity hacks in an effort to save time, instead, she has studied how thousands of successful women and men spend their time and analyses what they do that makes them good at it. We hope you gain a lot from this episode! See more
15.01.2022 Our very own host, Lucy Dickens, has written a book! It’s available for pre-order now! My new book It's Time to Do Law Differently: How to Reshape Your Firm and Regain Your Life is now available for pre-order in Australia! I'm so excited (and, let's be honest, slightly nervous!) to share this book with the world. It's the result of years of work pulling together what I know about building a modern law firm.... What I see all the time is that law firm leaders have so many ideas about how to change their firm, but they are missing the roadmap the piece of the puzzle that pulls all the loose ends together and tells them what to do and in what order. That’s exactly what my book does - it takes all the competing ideas and theories and translates them into a strategy for your firm. In It's Time to Do Law Differently, I share my six-step blueprint for transforming your law firm. Learn how to move from a traditional practice to a productised ecosystem and as a bonus, you might just get that quality lifestyle that you’ve been craving. You can pre-order your copy at www.lucydickens.com.au/book See more
14.01.2022 If youre a working mum, youve probably asked yourself this question at some point am I harming our children by being a working mother? This is one of the big questions we posed in episode 112 of The Juggle Podcast. We talked to Mandy Richardson, a qualified Early Childhood Educator with a Masters in Childhood Studies, currently completing her PhD in Respectful Parenting approaches to improve both parent and child well being and overall family functioning. Mandy admits... that she initially struggled herself with the idea that women would have children and seemingly be uninvolved in their childrens lives; but since becoming a mum herself and especially after carrying out research for her Masters and PhD, her view has changed completely. She now advocates that it is the quality of the relationship between the mother and child that matters far more than whether the mother works outside the home. Have you had a listen yet? See more
