24.01.2022 Happy Monday !!! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and the terrific weather Christmas is coming soon and we are all having a well deserved break.... We decided not to wait until 2021 for our new year resolution and start implementing new things to change our lifestyle to be healthier in our mind and body. We live in a beautiful area and there are heaps of places to discover. So, we got out of the house on Sunday, took the dog to Yallingup and the low tide allowed us to do 5km along the beach with the dog It was nice to switch off, get some fresh air and burn some calories. Idea for your new year resolution: #1 Get out of your routine at least once a week and try something new, go somewhere new or meet someone new (dogs count)

24.01.2022 Shoulder Pain: Should you get an XRAY or MRI... Have you heard the words: Degeneration, Tear, Disc bludge or Arthritis? If yes, you are probably worried about it. My best advice is DON’T. ... Imaging studies (X-ray/MRI/Ultrasound) are not correlated with pain at all. Yes, you heard me right. Some people have degeneration in their spine, rotator cuff tear, bursitis or arthritis and they do not experience pain at all. In this video, it explains when imaging studies are useful and not for your shoulder issue. If you are in pain, have imaging findings and do not know what to do next then contact us at the clinic. 16.01.2022 Suffering from Neck Pain! Arthritis is preventing you from moving your neck properly? Do you think it is normal to experience pain? It's time to reframe neck pain!... Have you heard about Body-Mind connection? Our mind is a very powerful tool to overcome any condition. But sometimes, if we put all our attention into our pain, we can tense our muscles more and more, which creates more restrictions within our joints. Learning to move without thinking about pain can be really useful to rewire connections between our mind and body. Here is an example with one of my patients who came to the clinic for chronic neck pain due to arthritis. Ageing is not a synonym of pain or "wear and tear" This term is so commonly used we have probably forgotten that it is actually a rhyme. When our bodies wear, they always adapt and there will always be some repair. Yes, your body can heal. Arthritis is not a death sentence where your joints will never move again. There is a huge amount of research showing that many people who have arthritis do not experience pain. The key to keep your joints active is movement. Rehabilitation can be fun and doesn't need to be boring. Everyone is different, so make sure you get a management plan that fits your goals and your needs.

Spending time outdoor is one the best natural medicine for your body. Make sure you get out of the house and stop Netflix for few hours

11.01.2022 ARE YOU SITTING AT WORK Have you been experiencing neck pain or back pain A strong correlation exists between poor thoracic mobility (upper body range of movement) and neck and back pain ... As a general guide, try to stand-up every 30 minutes and move for 30 seconds. Take some time to stretch, shake your legs and move all your joints in different range of motion. The key point is to move as often as you can... Stay consistent with it and you will see improvement over time. Many of my patients noticed their hips, back and neck less stiff by moving off their chairs often.

05.01.2022 Are you sitting all day for work Are you working hard to complete your end of year projects Our body is made for movement and being in the same position for too long can be the source of your pain. ... Try to do the following if you are working in an office all day: 1. 40 min sitting should be equal to 10-30 seconds standing 2. Keep yourself moving by standing-up during a phone call 3. Do 8 squats from your chair every hour and move your back and your body in a different position 4. Go for a walk after work All those little habits can change your persistent neck or back pain over time. Still not convinced about it? In the South West, we might not have suffered from severe lock down like other states but nevertheless people have felt the impact of COVID-19 in their daily life ... Lack of house rentals in the market Increase hours at work to maintain production in many industries such as hospitality, mining, retail and so forth The inability to see our friends and family from other states A combination of working from home, working long hours, poor ergonomic set up, and lack of movement has resulted in many people holding stress and tension in the neck and shoulder area.
