You can often find $50 vouchers to try advertising campaigns through their site as well. Although LinkedIn is a great way to generate interest, make sure your page is up to date and well put together, otherwise your content or advertising may go to waste.

22.01.2022 The Top 7 Ways to Get More Students in 2018 - # 3 Targeted Facebook Ads A lot of RTOs have tried Facebook ads with limited success, and theres a reason for that as well as a solution. Many RTOs wanting to increase enrolments through Facebook marketing make the mistake of boosting a post (which is usually a complete waste of money!), or they target the completely wrong audience, or forget to make sure they have a pixel installed before they start their marketing campaign. T...he best way to get enrolments through Facebook is by using very targeted audiences and matching ads. For example, our agency ran a very successful campaign to get enrolments for a Diploma of Project Management. We worked out that a typical student in this course at this college was a tradie, over 35 years old, with a family and a mortgage, and was buying a lot of painkillers or visiting the chiropractor often. We purchased an audience who matched these criteria and ran an ad along the lines of `When it is time to get off the tools and move into a management role... and got the ad cost per lead down from $65 for the generic campaign to $21 for the targeted one. To summarise- the more targeted you make your audiences, the less you need to spend per lead. Retargeting with a very clear goal and campaign is also key to getting cost effective leads from facebook. And putting lots of work into posting to your page and boosting posts is usually a complete waste of time and money unless it is integrated into an advertising strategy.

13.01.2022 The Top 7 Ways to Get More Students in 2018 - # 1 Geo-fencing & Beacons Geofencing is a way to target customers who visit your competitors locations or other places your customers congregate by pushing ads to their phone when they visit a specific location. Geofencing is software based and can be done from anywhere in the world. For example if a beauty college wanted to target every other beauty college in the country they could show ads to everyone that walked in to each col...lege. To use it you buy blocks of impressions and can also show the ad to anyone who visits for up to 30 days afterwards. Beacons are like geofencing but use hardware about the size of a phone that broadcasts for up to 100m and pushes ads from the beacon to the phone of anyone in the vicinity. You can have one in your office, your pocket when walking around town, in your car at a sports event, attached to a billboard, pretty much anywhere that you can think of! You can walk around a careers expo broadcasting ads from your pocket instead of paying thousands of dollars to have a stand there. The disadvantage over Geo-fencing is that the device needs to be in the proximity of the people it is advertising to. The advantage is you just pay a monthly fee and can transmit to as many people as you like at no extra cost.

11.01.2022 Finally after all these years of running RTOs Ive figured out the answer to the question should I put an ad in the HR journal or would a sign on the back of a bus seat be better? And the answer, like it is to anything important, is it depends. But Ive finally been able to articulate what it is it actually depends upon. I was explaining it to a client the other day and realised those were the words Id been looking for.... It depends on your STRATEGY. As both of those ideas are just tactics. And tactics have to come after strategy. So for example in your strategy you decide who your target student is. What do they want to study and why? And what else can you work out about them? So your course might be a Diploma of Counselling and your perfect student turns out to be a nurse who is tired of the health system but still wants to help people. Once you know that you can dig in and work out what their hobbies and interests are, where they go, what they like and dont like. And once you know that youll know where to find them. Do they read HR magazines? (Hint- no- they have zero interest in HR) Do they catch public transport? (Hint- no- they are on shift work and there are no buses for them) So then its just a simple matter of working out where they are and advertising there. That could be online or offline. And getting a message in front of them. For the tired nurses Id probably be finding them in Facebook groups but its going to be different for each target audience. For example if you were targeting courier drivers you would probably prioritise a billboard on the side of the road over something that needs a computer to access. Anyway hope that helps, it took me 20 years to come up with a simple explanation for this
10.01.2022 The Top 7 Ways to Get More Students in 2018 - # 4 Google AdWords Ahhh google adwords... Remember the days in the early 00s when this was a cheap and easy way to find students? This method was very effective 10 years ago, when there wasnt much competition in the AdWords space, but now it has been used by nearly every RTO and their dog. ... There is some good news though! With the death (well maybe induced coma) of Vet Fee Help its becoming a lot cheaper to get leads again in AdWords! If you do plan on using Google AdWords to secure new leads, also consider re-marketing to any clients that clicked on the ads but didnt buy, that way you get the most bang for your buck and it reduces the cost per lead.
09.01.2022 The Top 7 Ways to Get More Students in 2018 - # 7 Referrals A referral can be in the form of an existing student referring you onto a friend/family member/colleague. Often RTOs forget to ask for this at the end of a students course. Most marketing advice leads people to remarket to existing clients and this can be difficult for RTOs as remarketing to students may not always be effective or ethical. Keeping government regulated rules in mind, asking for referrals or testimo...nials at the end of a course graduation may be the best way to take on this task. An alternative method may include putting comments or photos up on Facebook congratulating graduates and they will share from there. See more

06.01.2022 The Top 7 Ways to Get More Students in 2018 - # 2 Chatbots/Sales Automation Chatbots have finally become accessible for the average RTO. They are a great way of capturing leads while your staff are doing other things. A chat bot is a written sequence using artificial intelligence which talks to people on your website. It can also be initiated from an ad or a link on your business card or even a code on a poster.... It is like having live chat available 24/7 without needing an actual human involved until the person is ready to talk. They are useful for nurturing web visitors who arent ready to commit to a conversation and then for communicating with clients or potential clients instead of email (the bot talks to them using facebook messenger). They get 80-95% open rates instead of maybe 30% average for email. They can be structured to suit different scenarios from collecting contact details for new enquiries to managing the whole enrolment process. So far our RTO chatbots are achieving over 80% open rate and 21% response rate from users. The bot can turn into an email, a phone call, or a Facebook conversation and can send out videos, documents, pictures or even take payments. They are really only limited by your imagination.
