25.01.2022 Making an insurance claim from your superannuation? Do you need a lawyer to assist with the claim? Here are some things to first consider. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au//lawyers-superannuation-insurance-/

24.01.2022 One of the most talked about real estate topics are crashes. In reality, theyre pretty rare. Like any other investment, investors should focus on more tangible risks, the ones they often ignore. https://www.mfg.com.au//forget-property-crash-focus-on-ta/

24.01.2022 Lest we forget.

24.01.2022 What happens when someone has hooked into a really crazy successful stock? When it constitutes 50%, 75%, maybe 90% of their wealth. What should they do? As always with money, its complicated. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/heirlooms/

24.01.2022 Feature wall in the new office. Might be one for the finance nerds out there, various financial academics who inform our investment beliefs. Its great to have a daily reminder that evidence is the basis for what we do for clients. Thanks to bl_nk designs and Fiona Dowling for their work on this one.

23.01.2022 Seniors groups do a good job in many areas. The investment space isnt one of them. From defending bad investment strategies to begging the government for handouts when those strategies go wrong. Seniors deserve better advice. https://www.mfg.com.au//senior-lobbyists-not-helping-seni/

23.01.2022 With the countdown on were all a little anxious to get back in the office. Even employee dogs are feeling it. Old mate Dustys so stir crazy hes making friends in the mirror

23.01.2022 The rivalry is heating up! Dusty's even made an appearance.

22.01.2022 "A new year rolls around or maybe theres some market volatility (and) these articles start coming thick and fast. Active fund managers with good teeth and $100 haircuts are being fawned over by journalists Mancell Financial Group #Investing #ActiveManagement http://ow.ly/rhTO50zSana

20.01.2022 Latest office updates, a few incremental changes over the last few days. Glass has made its way into office fronts.

18.01.2022 Yesterday you saw the remnants of the old office. Today its the new. A couple of days old, but things are progressing quickly.

18.01.2022 We have officially moved. Heres how to find our new office from the street, along with your access options once inside.

18.01.2022 Everyone loves a great story. When investing we always have to say: show me the evidence. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/stories-evidence/

17.01.2022 We saw someone take out the whole $10,000 amount on Thursday and by Monday they had none left. The government has done some good things during COVID-19, but this wasnt one of their better ideas. https://www.news.com.au///cf2f2b08fd8893b30bae0e4882f67af9

17.01.2022 Gifting can be a vexed issue. We might want to help our families, but it can't be at the expense of our long term needs. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/gifting-that-might-be-taking/

16.01.2022 Football colours day. Some snaps from around the office. Still no shame in being a North supporter apparently!

15.01.2022 Over the last few weeks we've had a new face around the office helping out. Mariah stepped in to cover the load in reception after Carla had a whoopsie on her mountain bike. She did a great job and quickly got into the swing of how our office works, so we thought we'd give her a morning tea send off. Thanks Mariah, and all the best in the future!

15.01.2022 A little bit of history about our office. The space was originally the Burnie theatre. This is back in the days before what's now the otis room was a cinema and long before Metro Cinema Burnie. A little nod to that history in our lunch room. Thanks again to Grant at bl_nk designs

15.01.2022 A few more shots around the office and a thumb. Thanks for that one, Peter.

14.01.2022 The boss even does office maintenance. How goods that?

14.01.2022 Site visit, but we had to move this guy on for safety reasons. Wasnt wearing his Hi-Vis bib.

13.01.2022 Peter was in The Advocate a couple of months back suggesting people dont make short term decisions with their superannuation. Weve since had a market recovery. This is the whole point about not reacting to market movements because youll only sell at the lows and buy back at the highs.

13.01.2022 Its tempting to listen to successful & knowledgeable people like scientists or business leaders when they offer insights on investing. But we need to be careful their insights arent guesses about a future they cant see. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/stopping-your-clock/

13.01.2022 More action from the new office this morning. Carla, your plants are still drooping...

12.01.2022 Wondering whats going on with the economy and the stockmarket. Why one can be bad, yet the other good? The economic devastation in contrast to the stockmarket may seem perverse, but its not necessarily wrong. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/stocks-sectors-the-economy/

12.01.2022 A little more action. Pods in. Reception setting up.

12.01.2022 A lot of investors struggle with the short term movements of sharemarkets, but if you just let them work, their long term wealth creation benefits will emerge.

12.01.2022 Peter is one of the best resources in our office due to all the knowledge he's acquired over 40 years, so we thought we'd pick his brain for some new videos. Tristan asked about the similarities between coaching in the sporting arena and financial advice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99zKN-Srr3Y

11.01.2022 So theres been a little bit going on. These are from last week, but as you can see the old office has come apart fast. Stay tuned for more updates. And for once the massive elevator came in handy.

10.01.2022 A bit more of a look at the new office. The staff room is a little bit exciting. Yes, that is a basketball ring, but only nerf balls and no dunking! A good place to relax after work, grab a coffee or have lunch. Thanks again to bl_nk designs and Fiona Dowling for the room design and sign implementation here.

09.01.2022 Seems like its the good life at the temp office at Peters place! Apparently there are whales out there somewhere.

09.01.2022 The media has been giving the worlds greatest investor hell recently for being cautious, yet at the same time theyre cheer-leading new investors who are gambling with their retirement savings. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/old-new-slow-fast/

06.01.2022 The early access to superannuation may have been beneficial for some people, but others are doing their future a disservice. There comes a time when we will either need or want to retire. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au//superannuation-immediate-gratific/

05.01.2022 Shareholders cant always count on the regulators to protect them, as the saga of German payment processor shows. Diversification is always the best defence. Out latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au/blog/wire-fraud/

04.01.2022 Starting to look like an office now. Livery even on the front door.

04.01.2022 Surprise, its casual clothes day! In the last financial year weve raised over $8,000 by coming to work in our civvies once a month. And all credit to Graham, he still donates even though he usually forgets and comes in his work clothes. Today he remembered! A list of organisations weve donated to. Childrens Medical Research Institute... 04.01.2022 An interesting piece which explains some developments in society and how we view things. Things are actually better than they seem, but due to our ability to access so much information they can seem worse. https://www.collaborativefund.com//here-we-are-5-stories-/

03.01.2022 There was a twitter hack earlier today. The famous werent spared. A good reminder if you get an email, phone call or social media message requesting money, personal details or suggesting youve been fined, dont react and keep calm. Seek some external clarification on the matter. https://www.theguardian.com//twitter-elon-musk-joe-biden-h

02.01.2022 Everyone wants to know what impact the US election result will have on investment markets. History shows there is no clear better party. In this election, what markets want is a clear result. Our latest blog post. https://www.mfg.com.au//election-result-irrelevant-but-vi/

02.01.2022 Big news: were moving! A brief statement on our move to a better location in early July. https://www.mfg.com.au//upcoming-change-of-business-premi/

02.01.2022 Its international dog day, but there are no woofers around the office today. What a barking disgrace! Heres a gallery of some our favourite office hounds anyway.

02.01.2022 If you ever want a better example of why trying to time the market is futile, look at 2020. We had a large crash in the space of a month. A few months later weve had an unexpected and unprecendented recovery. To be successful you need to be right twice.

01.01.2022 A few more pictures from the new office. Coming together at record pace. The plants have even settled in, though some are looking a bit too relaxed.

01.01.2022 Diversification is a simple concept, it helps lower an investors risk, but some investors see themselves too knowledgable or experienced to use it. In the recent market sell off banks were hit hard, dividends were cut and while the market has been recovering, the banks havent kept pace. An investor with a less diversified, bank heavy portfolio would be ruing their lack of diversification.
