29.12.2021 It's World Humanitarian Day - when we honour all those aid workers who have risked or lost their lives in humanitarian service, and say thanks to all those working to alleviate the suffering of people affected by crises around the world. Thank you for all you do. This year, the focus of World Humanitarian Day is the plight of civilians - including humanitarian workers - caught in armed conflict. In 2016 alone, 91 aid workers were killed, 88 were injured and 73 were kidnapped.... The UN and humanitarian partners are calling on world leaders to enable humanitarian workers to deliver relief to all civilians in need, without discrimination based on race, color, sex, language, religion, or other status; and to not direct attacks against humanitarian workers or assets.
