25.01.2022 It Can Keep Them Safe One of the most useful things with regards to learning a second language is the ability that it has to make you feel safe and confident. Yes, a variety of languages can give your kids that extra bit of skill when trying to be streetwise while on vacation or abroad. Think about it - how often are tourists targeted when vacationing in foreign countries? All the time! Therefore, it is highly important not to look, act, and behave like a tourist in areas where street crime might be a common occurrence. Even learning the basics of a language can scare scammers away, and potentially save you from a very unsavory experience.
24.01.2022 It Can Open Doors To Other Languuages The more languages you know, the easier it is to learn newer ones. That's right, once your kid has a second language under their belt, they may want to pursue another one. For instance, the 3rd time around, your child would have already worked out different strategies that seemingly work for them when learning a second language. Plus, languages usually come in groups, such as Latin languages, Nordic languages, and Arabic. Once they have figured out one of them, it can be easier for them to get to grips with similar grammatical structures that other languages might have.
23.01.2022 Once a child can read in their first language, this ability transfers rapidly to the second language. This is one of the most important but least-known findings in education, and Chicago research showed that development of the childs first language means better English and better school performance in general. Over the next few weeks, we're going to go into detail so stay tuned!

16.01.2022 At Mandarin Stars, we focus on immersive learning and that's because you reap some rewards of bilingualism just by being in the vicinity of multiple languages, researchers report. Numerous studies have noted the brain benefits that come from being bilingual. The phenomenon is known as ambient linguistic diversity, and we show that it has the impact of increasing monolingual brain activity similar to what we see in bilinguals, even if the person doesnt speak or understand a ...second language, says Judith Kroll, a professor of language science at the University of California, Irvine. Monolinguals living in linguistically diverse contexts regularly overhear languages they do not understand and may absorb information about those languages in ways that shape their language networks, Kroll says. Considering the consequences of the ambient environment together with other sources of individual variation will frame an important new agenda for research on language, learning, and cognition. 16.01.2022 1. When children get quality education in their first language, they learn more subject matter. This knowledge helps make the English the children hear more comprehensible, which results in more acquisition of English. It also works the other way, if English is not the first language.

13.01.2022 3. Research consistently shows that students in quality bilingual programs outperform students in all-English immersion programs on tests of English reading. In that 2012 study, immigrant children did better on average than their peers in school. And when those immigrant kids grew up, their own children also did better than their peers. They found that the pattern held for all immigrant children, regardless of class, gender and race. They credited high cultural and family expectations for the kids success, along with the advantages of being bilingual eventually and having seen a little more of the world.

12.01.2022 Zekeh Gbotokuma, an associate professor of philosophy at Morgan State University, gave a lecture titled Cosmoportism: UniverCity and International Competency Through Multilingualism at the Charles Village Bird in Hand. His presentation focused on the question of how multilingualism can increase cross-cultural understanding in a global society. If each one of us, after acquiring all kinds of knowledge, could be able to share that knowledge not only in our native languag...e but also in the language or languages other than our own language, imagine what kind of power you would have with that ability, Gbotokuma said. He argued that exposure to such linguistic diversity is one of the factors that helps a person develop what he calls international competency. He argued that such international education and competency can result in new experiences, different perspectives, and fresh academic and economic opportunities that otherwise would not be available to people. To conclude, Gbotokuma doubled back to insist again on his belief in the power of language. People should realize that being monolingual is actually a hazard, he argued. We are speaking animals. The ability to communicate through language is one of the essential things about being a human being, he said. There are so many languages and you cannot know all of them, but there should be no excuse for anybody to graduate from university without that communication ability. 11.01.2022 It Can Connect Your Kids To Their Heritage Since civilization began, humans have been migrating to different countries in search of a different life. As a result, different cultures and communities exist today that provide the world with a variety of languages and customs. However, sadly some families are unable to sustain their original culture due to a lack of understanding from the community in which they've settled. Therefore, giving your kids that ability to speak a second language can open the door to their past and social history. Yes, language and culture are most definitely linked and should be encouraged at all costs.
10.01.2022 It Is Impressive At the end of the day, learning another language might be beneficial academically, but it is also extremely beneficial socially too. That's right, being able to speak a different language is incredibly impressive and can make your kids very popular in a short space of time. 06.01.2022 2. It is much faster to learn to read in a language the child understands. Once the child can read in the first language, this ability transfers rapidly to the second language. Good bilingual programs teach subject matter and develop literacy in the first language. They start English-as-a-second-language classes immediately, and teach subject matter in English as soon as it can be made comprehensible.
04.01.2022 It Can Boost Musical Skills Learning another language can not only help your child academically, but it can also help with your child's understanding of music. The skills you develop in order to speak another language can also function beneficially when learning musical instruments. For example, when children learn the different sounds and notes of a second language, they are also teaching their brains to remember a large variety of musical sounds. Plus, children can also use music to help them when studying a second language. Yes, things such as song lyrics, movies, and texts are all excellent ways to improve your language skills.

01.01.2022 More Job Opportunities One of the most beneficial reasons to learn another language is the career opportunities that it will provide in the future. Yes, having the ability to speak more than one language can most certainly open doors for your child when they are older and looking for a job. These days, more and more businesses are working cross-culturally, with offices and workspaces in numerous countries. Therefore, those who can communicate with people from a variety of different places will be favored with regards to job preference and salary. That's right, having a second language will set apart your little one from most other applicants.
01.01.2022 It Boosts Creativity Learning another language can really boost your brain power with regards to creativity and imagination. Yes, not only does it help academically, but it also helps your children's inventiveness and individuality. A second or third language expands the brain and opens it up to other grammatical structures, vocabulary, and pronunciation. This kind of brain power can benefit children who are interested or talented in the arts, such as writing, drawing, and even singing. In fact, not only does a second language help with your child's creative ambitions but it also contributes to a longer attention span.
